Great physical control for Hue lights
Way better than the old Hue dimmer. The dial feels solid - turn to dim, click to toggle lights, hold to cycle scenes. Super intuitive compared to fumbling with multiple buttons. Setup took 30 seconds in the Hue app. Magnetically sticks to the wall mount or works as a table remote. No wiring needed. Only downsides: requires the Hue Bridge (no direct bulb connection) and only comes in black. Would've preferred white to match my walls. If you're already in the Hue ecosystem and sick of using your phone for lights, this is worth it.

easy to install, many-featured
Installs in about a minute with two screws, no wiring required since it's battery operated. Setup in the app takes a few more seconds and there are many configuration options in the app since the control has four buttons plus a dimmer dial. It's a great addition to a home with Philips Hue lighting.

Outstanding Product but Philips Needs to Learn how to Communicate Clearly
Ordered one of these for our guest room. It works great and the magnetic back lets it be placed on a metal nightstand. Instead of guests telling an Apple Homepod how to change lights and lamps, they can just press buttons. First button for nightstands (Hue on/off switches controlling table lamps), second for changing scenes for ambient lighting (Hue bulbs and lamps), third for dim nightlight, and fourth for everything on. Not all houseguests like to talk to a voice assistant! This is a fun product and dialing the outer ring to dim lights is especially satisfying. Given how good this product works, I could be done here. However, I feel like I have to say a few words about how poor Philips Hue's consumer facing support is. The product info sheet with hieroglyphics and no words that comes in the box is utterly useless as an installation guide. The sheet is so bad it is comical. The QR code the opens a web page is a little better, but as with many Philips Hue product the documentation on the Philips website is incomplete and inadequate. I was able to figure out installation by playing around with the app, but Philips Hue is just plain lazy in the documentation department. As a long time Hue user with 40+ Hue products, I know what to expect, but new users are going to be befuddled by the lack of clear guidance. Please do better. One more gripe. Thank you Amazon for the clear picture of the product showing the Tap Dial Switch comes with a rectangular wall mounting plate - I knew exactly what I was getting. But zero thanks to Philips Hue for a product picture on Amazon with a smaller square mounting plate, and zero thanks for a product picture on the Hue website that shows no mounting plate and a puzzling round backing plate. Perhaps the problem is that Philips sells different products in the US vs. in other countries, so the names and images change. If so, this should not become a consumer problem as well. Philips really needs to clean up its act and make sure its products are clearly described across the Internet, and also provide usable set up instructions. This is a 5 star physical product with a 4 star app and 1 star product onboarding experience.

Finally a hue switch that’s almost worth its cost
Hue switches (and devices) are just too expensive. That being said they are very reliable. This switch is the first device from hue that’s actually worth the price. You can actually control 5 lights from one switch. The 4 buttons and the rotary ring can each turn on and off lights separately. There is a little work to figure how to turn on and off a light with a simple alternating short press it by default wants a short press to turn on and a long press to shut off. This is because a second short press (and third and forth) wants to change scenes. It is possible to make it short press on short press off you just have to play with the settings and it not too intuitive. The only other head scratcher is the ring can only be program to one light ( one that has a button programmed to it or a separate 5th light). I figured there would be a setting where the ring would follow whatever light you turned on but no luck. Maybe it will come with a future update. Also there is no way to configure the sensitivity of the ring so it takes too many turns to turn a light fully on and off. Again maybe a future update (are you getting my hints Phillips). Other than these minor downsides the switch is very reliable and convenient and the battery life seems to be good unlike the single button switch for which I must stock up on batteries. I’ll update this if something changes.

Started with 1 and now I’ve purchased my 3rd.
Now have 3 of them. They work flawlessly and take almost no time to set up. Although I personally feel they are a bit pricey, I’d still say they are worth the cost.

Smart Lighting Control, Reinvented
This dial is awesome — turn for dimming, press for scenes. Pairs easily and works great on a nightstand or wall. Super smooth, and looks sleek.

The best Hue switch.
The best of all of Hue's switch lineup. Worth it @ $60 and definitely worth it @ $40.

I’m a big fan of Philips Hue products for building a smart home. While they can be expensive, they just work so well and integrate seamlessly. I bought two of these Wall Tap Dial Light Switches for our guest rooms to easily control multiple lamps at once, and they’ve been fantastic. The dial is super convenient for adjusting the lighting, and it makes the space feel more functional and streamlined. The only downside is the price—it’s a bit on the higher side—but for the quality and ease of use, it’s definitely worth it.

The point of having smart lights is to be able to control them from your phones among other things you can do (automation, etc). So why have a physical control? That's because this Tap Dial can do much more then simply a button/switch. The dial for instance allows fine adjustment of brightness conveniently! And of course for the elderly who find controlling via the phone a hassle.
