WiFi thermometer works great. We use this in a second home to make sure the heating system is working. Easy to pop on the Govee app and see the temperature at any time. The temperature is either the same or within 1 degree of the wall thermostat. Looks nice setting on a table and an affordable solution for peace of mind.

We bought this when we were going on a trip in the Winter so we could monitor the house temperature. The unit has a number of fancy features like keeping a record of temperatures and also monitoring humidity, but we just use it for one function - spot checking the temperature, while traveling and it performs this function flawlessly via the associated app. Installation consisted of inserting a battery, and connecting to the WiFi, and then registering it with the app, all of which was pretty uneventful. Subsequent use is just as easy - open the app, look at the temperature and then close the app. The n=unit seems to be accurate as well, registering temperatures +- half a degree relative to our home thermostat.

It’s reliable, user-friendly, and provides valuable insights. If you can manage the battery replacement, it’s definitely a worthwhile investment!

This unit is easy to set up, connects easily with the Govee app, and meshes with other Govee devices via Bluetooth. The WiFi also allows it to work as a standalone unit, making the readings available remotely via the smartphone app. The e-ink display makes it easy to read, and has even better clarity and contrast when compared to a typical LCD display (which it mimicks with its seven-segment appearance). The sensors respond quickly. Even picking this unit up for a moment induces a change on the readings. The Govee app provides access to historical data, with trend graphs and the capability of downloading the data. This unit is a good value for a device that allows you to comprehensively monitor basic environmental conditions within a room.

This thing is cool. I’ve been using it in my storage building for about a year. It tracks data and sends it to the app. I think I’ve changed the batteries twice. Ordering another one.

Update: 8/2025 I have not had problems with the replacement as I did with the first thermometer/hydrometer. Battery life last a little bit longer but I am definitely changing the batteries more than twice a year. I found that using rechargeable batteries didn’t last as long and I was charging them mote frequently. Aside that, it is reliable. We have power outages often and I worry about my fur babies and fosters when I am out pf the home. The notifications make this helpful. Govee products also pair up with Alexa. Overall I am so happy with the thermometer. One year while working in a remote area in the desert my swamp cooler in my RV stopped working. I received the notification from the app and checked and could tell from the graph on the app at what time the swamp cooler stopped working and rushed back to my duty station. Govee thermometer saved my cats. I got back found the swamp had stopped working and was able to switch it to AC. This will be second unit that I’ve had to replaced luckily Amazon has great customer service. I rely on this to check on the temp in RV because I have three cats. I work in the desert and am parked where I have wifi and shore power, having this until is great because I can check on the temperature while I’m in the field working, as long as I have wifi service. PROS: Battery operated no need to plug it in and helpful for folks who are boondocking and have wifi access. Connects to wifi and you can check the temperature/humidity remotely. No monthly subscription. You can program it to send alerts when the temperature/humidity drops - low/high. I enjoy the downloaded app that allows me to check in and monitor. CONS: Battery life is short, pack extra batteries with you because they don’t last longer than 2.5 weeks. Perhaps if you set it to not send out frequent reports on temps they would last longer, but I’m worried about my cats and want to make sure that they are staying cool, we have power outages at our duty station which means the electrical can go out and I rely on our swamp and AC to keep things cool. I ended up buying rechargeable batteries in order to reduce waste. Be gentle when opening the kickstand part because it will break. The second unit that I have is less than a month old, batteries put in 2.5 weeks ago have started to read the wrong temperature. Refer to my video when I compare it to another thermometer. Although it was reading a few degrees off, the purpose of my having this is for accuracy. Amazon is replacing this unit which arrives tonight. I also just ordered Energizer rechargeable batteries. A small investment but I don’t like the idea of having to buy batteries all of the time, it’s wasteful and expensive. Anyhow this is great for those of us who travel but you need access to wifi if you want to check on the app. Overall I am very pleased. I had done a lot of research on a unit like this, many seemed to have issues, and this is simple to use. Govee will also sync with Alexa, which I have done but it only reads the humidity.

It was easy to connect to Wi-Fi and it was easy to connect to my two heaters. However, I set up auto run on the thermostat for the heaters and I keep having issues with either one of the heaters where sometimes the heater won’t kick on and other times the heater won’t kick off. One heater might be 6 feet away from the Wi-Fi thermostat and the other heater might be about 10 feet away. However, it’s a clear path to both heaters. There is nothing in the way. I originally had the Bluetooth thermostat, however, I was under the impression that it would not work if my phone wasn’t close by and that’s how it seemed to be so that’s why I bought the Wi-Fi thermostat however I’m starting to think it was a waste of money. I have other Govee products and I’ve had no issues with any of them however, this Wi-Fi thermostat I seem to have issues with it, staying connected to the heaters or the heater is working properly according to how I have the auto run set up on the thermostat. Still undecided, whether to keep it or return it. Update: Govee contacted me through Amazon this morning, here I thought they didn’t care about the customer yet I found out they had reached out immediately yet I never got the message because I had recently changed my email address. Anyway, issue has been resolved. As for this product, I think the issue lies between the app, thermostat, and heaters. Don’t believe it’s a WiFi issue. Still prefer Govee products, wish they had more, and looking forward to what new products/options they come out with!!!
