Great for Meat, Not so good for Vegetable
Great for Meat, Not so good for Vegetable. This knife is not super sharp. As you may know, sushi chef checks sharpness of their knife on their nails. If knife stops on the nail, it is sharp. This knife did not stop on my nail when I received this as new.

I LOVE this knife!
I was visiting my parents a couple of months ago and used this knife when I was making dinner... I ordered one immediately so it would be there when I got home. It's super sharp - and doesn't need sharpening. I read a few reviews where people complained that the black coating wore off of the blade but here's my take: I NEVER put any chef knives in the dishwasher under any circumstances and I think the people that had the issue may have put their knives in the dishwasher. Yes, I know it says it's dishwasher safe but I think maybe it's still not a good idea to do it. My Mom's knife has never gone in the dishwasher, has never been sharpened and it looks brand new. She's had it for a year!

Dull After less than 2 years
This knife quickly became our favorite after buying it almost 3 years ago. I attempted to look up the best way to sharpen it since the sharpness has clearly deteriorated, and all I could find was claims that it can stay sharp up to 25 years. We don't cook that much, so I'm not sure why they claim the 25 years, but they have no source (that I could find) regarding the angle of the cutting edge. So I spent a lot of money for a knife that stayed sharp ~1 year and I have to guess about sharpening. I would not purchase again.

Black Coatings Wears Off Over Time
Seemed to get dull fast, and over time the black stuff covering the knife comes off after several washings and eventually will get into your food.

まず、見た目はカッコいいと思う。次に持ってみて重いかなという印象。野菜や肉等を切ってみて最初は良かったが、1週間ほどで切れ味が落ちてきた感じ。いろいろ試して見たかったのでパン切包丁を持ってはいたが、これも試してみた。ホームベーカリーで焼いたちょっと耳が硬めの(フランスパンよりは柔いと思う)パンだったが、なかなか刃が入らないのでちょっと力を入れたらなんと刃が欠けてしまいました。いくら硬めとはいえパンを切って欠けるとは思っていなかったのでちょっとガッカリです。

めちゃ切れる
とにかくよく切れます。見た目のカッコイイと思うのですが、家内は全部が金属のせいかちょっと怖がっています。

話が違うんですが
買って三か月になりますが、もうコーティングが剥げて、刃がボロボロになりました。硬いものといったら、魚をさばいただけなのに。悲しいです。

切れ味、最高!!!
ショップチャンネルの包丁やダマスカス鋼、他の関の包丁を使いましたが、切れ味が最高です。それに、ステンレスの刃だと、切ったものがくっつきますが、これはスパスパです。
