Beautiful, rich story, can't wait to read the rest.
Did not expect to feel any need to leave a written review, Felt sure there would be tens of thousands praising this book to the rafters. Now I wish I was more social with people who read. I want others to experience this story. I'm not a good book reviewer, especially if I'm basically swooning over the story, which I am.Thankfully I saw a few other reviews that sound more sane and attempt to explain why this story is so lush and amazing. Thank goodness for both authors and reviewers who can write. 5 stars is almost never my reaction to the many books I read all year. With the burden of trying to describe the awesomeness of this story already pretty much handled, I'll just mention my reading impressions. The beginning half of the book was stressful to read, even though entrancing. Like watching a tragedy in progress. I kept thinking , NO, stoppppp, nooooo, don't do that! Constantly sure the main character was digging his own grave so to speak at every turn! Whew. From what I see in the next two book reviews, I need to get my thick skin on for the emotion carnival to come and trust the author about all the rest. Unique to me, thought provoking, compelling story premise and path. Greatly looking forward to the rest of this tale. Grateful that this particular book came up as one of the free to borrow through prime.

The world is a utopian fantasy story.
Fated Born by Kristin L. Hamblin. This book is well written and edited. It took me a bit to connect with the story and the characters. Not a lot happening at the beginning of the story. The world is a utopian fantasy story. Kinda gave me Giver vibes. I enjoyed the world both earth and the pre-mortal realm Acantha. If you like alternate world, this story is it.Tension and frustration were feelings the characters brought out in this book also in myself. This book is about strength and humanity. Beautiful moments throughout the story. The MMC Ardenis grows tremendously throughout the book. This book is about humanity and all the emotions we feel. It was easy to get your feelings tumbling all around. Great premise and fascinating story. If you like books about love and emotional roller-coaster, this is for you. I was left wanting more.Creative and emotional journey, definitely recommend this book.Quote:"Romantic love, they'd been warned, could change his very soul, and he’d witnessed it anyway. A power beyond any magic on Thera, more potent than any mages' spell. His breath shook. What had he done?" ~ Kristin L Hamblin

Pleasantly surprised, but predictable
Initially going into this book, I found the concept really intriguing and was excited to see how being exposed to love would alter the perception of our main character. I thought the way that Ardenis was experiencing these new emotions was really moving actually, I was trying my best to remember the first times I felt the emotion he was experiencing, and it was really well written in that regard. Also, the plot did end up being really interesting to me, and I was eager to see what was coming next. The only thing was that I found a majority of the book to be very predictable. Almost all of the twists and turns I would immediately be able to guess what was happening and why, and that definitely made it a little disappointing. Regardless, I did really enjoy it and I was eager to keep reading for more, but the fact I was never really surprised or shown anything unique with how unique of a concept was a little disappointing.

A MUST READ
I am 57 years old and have been an avid reader all my life....and this is one of the most original books I have ever read! The fact that it's Kristin's debut makes me very excited to see what else she has in store for us in the future! 🙂The storyline is one of the most unique I've seen. Acantha is the premortal realm where souls wait to be born....they like to emulate human emotions but rarely actually feel them for themselves, and have to adhere to strict guidelines in behavior. The Watchers, a specific group in Acantha, are tasked with watching over the mortal realm Thera.....in all it's emotional glory! One of the things I absolutely loved about this book was the author's ability to contrast the 2 "worlds" without sacrificing the characters of Acantha. Those characters were just as vivid and engaging as the human characters they followed, while still staying true to the storyline. A world within a world, a story within a story...and both were very interesting and engaging in their own right. It started a bit slow, as the reader is introduced to Acantha, which only made the story pop even more once the reader is introduced to Thera.....after the first 2 chapters, I absolutely could not put it down! This is, by far, the best debut book I've ever read! Well written, well thought out, with strong character and world building.....times 2 lol. It is hard enough to create one world, but 2? That's something special! The 2nd book of this series is due out March 2, and I will be pre-ordering my copy as soon as Amazon lets me.An absolute MUST READ!

A Watchers Love
This was an interesting story with fantastic world building. There are two storylines going on with Arden the watcher observing Thera and the life of Lady Eva. There’s a complex layering of those who aren’t to understand emotion in the life before birth and the passionate reality of emotions after birth. The only thing that I struggled with was fully diving into either storyline because as soon as it would start to happen the we would flip back to the other one. Damien and Eva’s love was passionate and I had high hopes for the King until the end. I’m definitely interested in seeing where this goes next!

Highly recommend!
This book was recommended to me by a Facebook group and I’m so glad it was! To be honest, at first I wasn’t sure if I liked the concept, but the more I read the more I was obsessed with the story! The unique point of view really made me think about the world and life. The forbidden emotions, love, etc! It was so phenomenal. It personally pulled me out of a book slump, to which I will forever be thankful of!!Once I finished the book I immediately started book 2!
