Carries snow like "snow boogers"
They are nice and heavy duty. One thing is if you live in areas where you get snow, it will get packed in the steps. Like solid ice if you don't knock it off.

DON'T PURCHASE
The mounting brackets came bent making the holes WAY off to the point that these are unmoumtable on my 2016 wrangler. Total disappointment. About to contact Rugged Ridge to figure out if they will send me new ones.

Not bad, but QC needs to be more strenuous.
These look really good once you get them on and they can hold weight without bending. They mount to the frame using mounting points near the front and rear tire. As you can see in the product image, the curved end of the armor bar should be towards the rear and the triangular section should be towards the front tire. Doing this avoids having your setup looks like the first guy's review As far as installation is concerned I just needed a standard depth 18mm, a deep socket 16mm (used a 5/8" spark plug socket), a 5/8" open ended wrench, a drill with a 3/8" socket bit (to connect to the sockets), and a 3/8" ratchet. I also used a jack stand to hold one side up while I did the install on the other side. Unfortunately for me, the driver side - side armor bar was bent a little too far in and required a lot of extra work to get inline with the frame bolts. What ended up getting that side on, was a 6" cast iron clamp. One end of the clamp went on a welded suspension mount and the other on the bars frame mount. The end result of all this work is what you can see in the pictures. I weigh about 270 and these bars have no problem with me standing on them. As far as kids are concerned, my 7 year old daughter now has no problem getting into the back seat. The powder coating on the bars isn't too sturdy. When I put one side on my jack stand, the outer layer cracked right off where it contacted the jack stand. This wasn't a forceful hit on the jack stand with the bar, this was simply lowering the side armor bar on to the jack stand. I haven't attempted any rock crawling or anything extreme since the install. I have taken my Jeep off road on mild trails and around town. I have noticed with the extra weight on the sides, there is some additional side-to-side body movement when making turns, which is expected. Overall, I am happy with the installed bars. The removed star is for the poor alignment of one side and somewhat questionable powder coat quality. I think with some additional QC the issue I faced with alignment would be fixed.

Bad engineering, worthless for rear door step.
Not sure how this one got past engineering stage because it's a horrible design. I put them on and thought for sure I received the wrong items in the box. Called Rugged Ridge and exchanged (as I happen to live in same town as their warehouse) but the new ones were exactly the same.First of all, don't plan on them being convenient for the rear doors because the step portion pretty much stops in front of the rear doors. I have two kids who need a step to get in and there isn't one even though it supposed to be for the 4-door.And then to top it off, the front of the rockers go under the front fender to accomplish---er nothing. Hey RR, why not move the bar mounts back so the non-used area of the rocker will shift to be usable for the rear doors? And lastly, there is this weird angle flare where the front of the rocker is wider than the stock fender flare but then it tapers as you go back towards the rear and ends up being a few inches away from the vehicle. It just looks ridiculously bad. Come on Rugged Ridge, you can do better than this, pull these off the market and correct your drawings please. These will be a major P.I.T.A. to ship back to Amazon...grrr. I'll try and post some pictures. They get two stars for being solid but the bad design is unforgivable.

Maybe it was just the one i purchased.
Bolt holes don't exactly line up on my 2015 JKUR. Would look a lot better if I didn't have to use so much duct tape to keep it attached.

Great accessory to my 2010 Rubicon 4 door jeep
Great accessory to my 2010 Rubicon 4 door jeep. These rails fitted right over the stock "rock sliders". Now I have double the protection.
