Very good light, switch could use an upgrade
In terms of performance, this light fulfills its claims. Without a light meter, I cannot say with certainty how many lumens this puts out. Based on my perception, it is definitely more than 3000 lumens, which makes sense because it claims 5000 lumens. For water resistance, it is submersible, though I have not taken it to the depths of the ocean. Both ends feature anodized and greased threads and double o-rings. These offer great water resistance, and I would not want a diving light without them. The beam pattern is well-focused for a quad emitter. The deep smooth reflector brings all of them into a tight spot which I believe reaches a few hundred meters, while still offering a good amount of spill. The large form factor is great for outdoor and underwater use. The lack of cooling fins may be due to the assumption that this will be used underwater, since it does get warm when used in air.It does not have on-board charging, which I see as a good thing. A charging port would compromise the water resistance, especially at lower depths. Instead, they include a charger for the 26650 cells that power this light. They have a great power density and make great use of the space in this light. The charger is fairly decent, though it uses Micro-USB and has limited output. It will allow you to charge 16340, 18650, 26650, and 36650 cells. I feel like it could have been made a little longer, because 21700 cells are more popular than 36650 cells. Since neither of these two are used in this light, this is just a personal gripe with the charger, and has nothing to do with the light. My only problem with it is the switch. It has a long travel, which I measured to be 3.4 mm, and no tactile feedback until it bottoms out 1mm below the bezel. Combined with the switch being only 6.5mm in diameter, this may be difficult to operate with thicker gloves. Wurkkos has created better switches, like on the TS25 or their very popular FC11 (which I have on me everyday). The switches on these offer short travel, have a positive click when activated, have larger diameter, and even have back lighting. These lights can also be submerged in water, but probably not to the same depth. The switch on the DL40 may be restricted due to its intend use of diving.

Excellent Dive Light.
I am a longtime fan of Wurkkos flashlights, and my new DL40 Dive light does not disappoint. The max output of the floody 5000 lumen beam is excellent for underwater illumination. The tint of the four neutral white LED’s makes for a natural appearance of your surroundings. The user interface is very simplistic and easy to use. One magnetic side button does it all and is very ergonomic. Included are two Wurkkos 5000 Mah batteries, an AC wall charger, two spare O-rings, and an excellent rubberized wrist lanyard. The DL40 is built to withstand harsh treatment and is IPX8 for water resistance. I have tested my DL40 on several shallow dives to depths of 60 ft or so with zero malfunctions. This light has become my favorite dive-type flashlight. The beam profile is clear and uniform with only mild artifacts when used out of the water and wall hunting. In my humble opinion, this light is extremely well-made and will serve you well in your underwater adventures. I highly recommend this light.

Great light for the water
I Choose this because I have had good success with my Wurkkos HD15 and HD15r Headlamp lights. They have worked great for me and when I needed a dive light this one seemed like a fun choice. This arrived on the perfect calm day to paddle out and dive so I got the package from the mail guy and headed out! This is a great light for the water, the flashlight button worked well underwater and was super easy to use. just push once to turn on and cycle through brightness levels. Press and hold to turn off.The light came with a battery charger, I wish the charger it had USB-C instead of Micro, but its fine for leaving in the shop. The batteries are nice and quality just like my other wurkkos that I have.It came with adapter to use what I think would 18650s in it, I have not tried it, but I am sure it would work well.It also came with a nice rubber gripped lanyard. this worked well under water and I think I will keep using it!Love the light!

Be responsible with it
The batteries are huge. Made me nervous because they took a few hours to charge. It does heat up fast, but it’s not meant to be a lantern anyway.Turbo mode is so bright, it makes me feel guilty using it in public. Don’t point it up.

Excellent rugged flashlight
I was a huge fan of other wurkkos lights, so I decided to try out this super bright light for keeping in my truck in case of emergencies. Excellent brightness and build quality. the switch seems super solid and the waterproof rating is great for rainy days or getting stuck in the mud. Highly reccomend!
