Decent tape at a decent price

Best tape I’ve ever used.

I compared this tape to the standard blue stuff made by 3M (Scotch) that you can get everywhere. They seemed to have the same glue at the time of my original review (see below). This version is a slightly darker blue color than the 3M. I tend to buy blue painters tape by price. For 3 nearly 2" wide rolls, $16 is good. But I always keep my eyes open since I do a lot of painting. I don't see any reason not to get this tape if it's the size you need.UPDATE October 2022 - See the photos. I used this tape painting some window frames. The entire job took 4 days. First day was primer. Second day was bad weather, so no work since windows could not be opened. 3rd and 4th days were two coats of finish, combined with hours of smashing invasive stink bugs - yuck! I used about half of one roll of this tape on this job. I am pleased to say it help very well, and much better than the 3M Scotch-brand tape that is pre-attached to that plastic sheeting. It sucked by comparison. I removed the tape on the 4th day. I should mention these windows/walls are due-east facing and get lots of direct sun in the mornings, causing more glue melt than maybe in other areas would get. Temps were up to 80 degrees on these 4 days. Lows near 45. When I peeled it off, a little bit of residue was left in a few areas of the glass. Not a deal killer, for sure. In the single window photo (laundry room window) a little bit of paint peeled off with the tape. one area was about 1" in diameter. Other areas were much smaller. I installed all the drywall in this room so I know the prep history. Drywall + tinted PVA primer + paint. What failed? I think the adhesive is slightly stronger than the 3M Scotch tape. Not enough that I won't keep using it though. 3M isn't all great either. I had spare paint to correct the issues, and now it looks fabulous. So, when you need tape, please do look at this one. It has the benefit of being ever so slightly stronger adhesive than the 3M version. For comparison, at Costco this weekend I saw a 3 pack of 1.5" 3M Scotch painters tape for ~$16. This stuff is a deal and I'm endorsing it and using it and will buy it as long as it's a deal compared to Home Depot or Costco or mu discounts at Sherwin Williams (it is right now). I should add that in the Family Room (double window photo) no wall paint came off upon removal. The underlying paint is much lighter in color, but was prepared the same way.

I have bought from this vendor many times over the years, always the same consistent tape. This tape is just as good as the name brand, no complaints! Great value!

Bought this tape to mask my vinyl windows and trim to spray paint my house. Tape started to release from the windows within 30 minutes of applying. Was the cause of a lot overspray that I will have to clean up now. Definitely not as good as Frog Tape brand.

It's fine. It is a lot of tape for the price, and is large rolls. However, it doesn't stick as well as other masking tape I have used. It is very easy to remove as a result, but it often comes unstuck when I didn't want it to.

The width of this tape is just right. The easy use of the tape but the stickability is perfect! Since I was using this tape for outside painting, it had to stick on various surfaces and it handled the brick to wood to metal to plastic surface just perfectly! Top quality material and definitely well worth the money! I absolutely would recommend this product to anyone!
