Human Body by Rock 'N Learn

Very Very Strange, but Very Very Effective!
Ok, a talking pencil with an Italian accent in a space lab helped by a whiny voiced butterfly with a human head to teach about the human body looked like it would be a complete disaster. I am still not sure what the writers of this show was thinking or what they were on. But, no matter how strange this video is, it does the job and then some. My 6 year old daughter loved it and can tell you all about the semi-circular canal, the digestive system (They describe this while riding on a log ride...I.KID.YOU.NOT) and way more that you would never expect a child to understand. I love that they use the real terms as well. I wish that they had other videos that were just as comprehensive and understandable to kids. We tried the science one and it was just too much all at once. All in all, I am very satisfied with the results of this program.

My son loves these DVDs
My son loves this video although now he tells me how he's going to eat and digest me lmaoMy kids are 5 & 3 and it caught their attention and held it my 5 year old has easily retained some of the info after watching the DVD once in my opinion the animation graphics and voices were low budget and annoying but my kids love it and I've ordered more of their DVD sets

Great Video!
Our daughter loves this DVD. She's 6 now but even at 5 she was engaged through the whole thing. My husband and I find some of the characters and animation a little odd but our daughter likes it and is learning and that's all that matters! It's a great introduction to, and explanation of, the various systems of the body. We highly recommend it! We've been pleasantly surprised by all of the Rock N Learn DVDs.

Nice but short
My son LOVES this series. He was asking for Telling Time by name at a year old. He is now 2 and we just watched this one. He did watch almost all of it straight through but it wasn't quite as engaging for his 2 yr old mind as some of the others I found it interesting but had expected a bit longer and a lot more details than it had. So for younger kids it is nice but I actually hope by the time he is in grade school he prefers my Anatomy and Physiology books to learn more details about the basics he picks up with this DVD. Id o think it will help him get the basics and build interest for more details. But this one he asks for occasionally not every day like his top 5-6 Rock & Learn favorites. Still an awesome series of DVDs and the only ones he constantly asks for--over cartoons, Disney and even PBS. So Thumbs up to this series just remember this one is fairly basic--which is age appropriate I suppose.

Very educational
I just finished a medical assistant program, I was trying to educate my 5 yr old as I studied my books. We watched this together, so know he knows why mommy a new job is so important. Very educational for little ones & great refresher for adults also!

Well done. I realize this was geared toward young people but as a 56 year old man I enjoyed it.

Pleased...
My son is a bit obsessed with wanting to know all about the human body (he's 3), so I got this for him, he loves it. We don't get much TV/tablet time but when we do, this is one he enjoys.

content lost on thick accent
Well we have several of these science rock and learn videos. The content is pretty decent - but the accent is a mess. Not sure why they would choose to have a thick fake accent to teach children words and information. Some of the words are pronounced differently on the video than Americans would speak it - so that is confusing for learning. & some of it the accent is so thick even I had to really concentrate to hear what word was being said. Perhaps good for some children - but for any child with a learning disability I think it adds to the chaos.

They are cartoon style with some singing etc to keep the kids entertained all the while making learning much more fun. I have no
My son absolutely loves this he can't stop watching it. They are cartoon style with some singing etc to keep the kids entertained all the while making learning much more fun. I have now bought the physical science & just awaiting another, I have found these dvd's to be accurate & a great addition to other learning material, books etc, I will certainly be keeping an eye out for more Rock & Learn products in the future.

Sehr nett gemacht

Every home could do with one
This DVD is very educational for both children and adults. It gives a 3 dimensional picture of the different parts of the human body and a little boy travels through them while explaining how the parts work and connect with each other, in easy to understand language. Our different age groups all enjoyed it and discussed things afterwards. I am looking out for more like this.

Anatomy for Kids
I bought this for my young grand daughters and watched part of it to see if it was appropriate. It is entirely suitable and The Digestive System section gave me a good laugh. As a nurse I was quite impressed with how the final bit of this system was depicted.

Human Body DVD a hit
I bought this DVD for my 3 year old grandson who has become obsessed with the human body. I thought he might have been a bit young for it but how wrong I was. He absolutely loves it and has watched it over and over. He has learned so much from it and he even sings the song and takes part in the quiz. The DVD covers the various organ systems in considerable but concise detail enough for young ones sit through and not get bored. It is a fun way of learning without compromising on fact. My only criticism is the American pronounciation which can be quite different from the way we Brits say things, which can be confusing for the kids (hence the 4 stars rather than 5). However, this aside, I am thoroughly pleased with this DVD and would recommend it to any child interested in the human body.
