Dirty Girls: The Naked Truth about Our Guilty Secrets (Unpretty, Unclean, and Utterly Horrifying)

You probably don't want to be drinking anything while reading this book, unless you like liquid coming out your nose. The writing style is easy and breezy, drawing upon her personal and related experiences. I was hoping to give it 5 stars, but I just couldn't. And yes, a lot of secrets are spilled. At the end of some of the chapters there are specific pages for men to read, and some helpful information on what they may be doing wrong, or things they should do right. Some of the things I read in the media reviews were not in the book, so that is a bit of a puzzle.

This book had me rolling in laughter at the airport! Such a great read. Hilarious and true, Telling not only provides real-life scenarios that I am sure most, if not all of us ladies can relate to, she also provides sections (gray pages) for the guys to read. I have read this book a few times, referred it to many of my girlfriends as well as friends on social media, and currently have my boyfriend reading it. Highly recommended!

I love this book so much I've bought a copy for each of my bridesmaids. Gillian Telling really hits the mark with this laugh-out-loud easy and fun read (that provides a bit of nostalgia to those of us who have left crazy times behind). Highly recommended!

I laughed out loud often while reading this! Ms. Telling has an engaging and witty way of describing what women are like when they're not trying to impress someone. It made me want to read her columns (and have a drink with her!).

In ten chapters, Gillian Telling, repeatedly tells men to put this book down, it is not for you. And yet each chapter has a section for the guys. This reveals what may be a shocking truth to some of you: Women are human beings, too.Written primarily for the 20s and 30s career woman still believing that she should find a man, for those of us older or not in the big cities, understanding everything in this book takes a bit of effort. We may even feel a bit superior when we hear tales of women's naughty behaviors when men aren't around and their thoughts after the date. We need to be honest: while we may not have the exact same concerns or experiences, in many ways these city chicks are much like us.For those of you in your 20s and 30s, living it out in the big world among the traffic and the high competition for jobs and men, I think this will connect strongly. You'll probably enjoy it even more if you read it with your girlfriends or get several copies then discuss it over drinks. You might want to take a poll and see how many of you are "dirty girls".For the men, the cover may entice you but you need a further warning. Reading this may shatter that mystery you want to build around women. Guess what? Once that illusion disappears something much more incredible is right there for you to discover. So be brave and give it a shot even if it means snatching your girlfriend's or sister's copy.
