Heavy duty, quality equipment.

My first impression was man, this thing is heavy! Needless to say the build quality is impressive. It’s a nice solid jig with a great layout. As a bonus it includes drill bits for all 4 size collars which is nice. It’s fairly simple to use and will give you precise results. You can also relocate the guides as needed for your particular task. I only have two complaints. First, there really is no good way to secure it. If you have strong hands you can hold the jig with one hand and drill with the other, but the bottom is so smooth that it could easily slide around if you don’t have some friction. You could maybe work with some double sided foam tape or something, but by lifting the device off the workpiece, you risk being slightly off target. You could use some C-clamps or something but depending on the job, that may not always be possible. If the base had something with more friction or there was an easier way to secure the jig to the work piece, that would be helpful. My other complaint is that for the center holes where you want to drill perfectly perpendicular into something, sometimes that something is a pipe or piece of PVC, as shown in the listing. However, there is no notch or anything so you put this flat piece of metal on a rolling tube and hope you’re keeping it straight. If there was a V notch in it, it wouldn’t affect how you drill into something flat and if you drill into a pipe, it would always hold it in the proper position. Other than that, this thing is a gem.

Solid piece! Metal, not plastic. Also came with drill bits. I'm about to gut my pantry and rebuild. I'll need to create shelves so this is handy. A must have for every DIY'er!

I am finishing up a shed in the backyard and for installing the access door lock on the door I had to make sure the hole I am making on the 3-inch-thick door frame is very perpendicular to the door and horizontal to the floor, so when I saw this tool, I thought this could help with that. Using the middle guiding holes on the jig I drilled my pilot hole and then enlarged it to the size I needed with a larger bit, It worked as I was expecting, easy and quick. I have other projects that I will be using the angled guides for them. Works as described.
