Very poor design and requires modification to assemble
Doesn't look like it will last and is difficult to assemble. Mounting screws pulled through on assembly. Once assembled (with larger washers that don't pull through the material), the bird spider doesn't readily sit upright and I had to modify the base of the bird spider to make it useable. The idea of the sandbag should be that it can sit on an uneven boat canopy for example but it's completely ineffective on anything but a flat surface. In that instance you might as well use a plank. It absolutely does not represent value for money as it is very close to not being fit for purpose.

This works great. I forgot my bird chaser on top of my radar arch more times than I care to count. It never fell off, this sand bag held firmly in place going up to 30mph.

BOUGHT THIS FOR A FRIEND IN EUROPE. IT COSTS DOUBLE THERE. IT'S JUST A SAND BAG WITH SOME WIRES COMING OUT OF IT. YOU COULD JUST GET SOME OLD OLD WIRE COAT HANGERS, STICK THEM IN A BLOCK OF WOOD, THEN STICK IT WITH GOOP TO YOUR BOAT CABIN. WILL NOT LAST, CHEAP MADE IN CHINA . THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS IN CHINA.

This is the second unit we've purchased with the weighted sand bag base. We had an issue with birds continually landing and leaving droppings on our boat. We installed one Bird B Gone and it works so well that we've ordered this second unit to cover additional space. Highly recommended.

Got this base to go on a lake swim platform to keep the ducks off it. When i assembled the base to the repeller a couple of things were obvious, the screws are capped so you cant tighten them down to the base, no lock washers and the repeller just flops around on top of it. The first full day of use the capped nuts came off, retightened same thing next day. I had to make a retainer ring and get new SS screws with lock washers and nuts, i put plastic caps over the exposed threads. For the price this thing should have been better engineered especially for the price. You basically sold me a giant cornhole bean bag.

The base needs a change to stop the spider from leaning to one side or the other. The current version can be easily modified by the user. The manufacturer could also easily fix the problem. This is a well manufactured product, but design need a slight change. The column on which the spider legs are mounted is attached to the blue canvas donut-shaped sand filled base. The donut is bridged across the middle and the column is screwed to that bridge. But the bridge is an inch or so above whatever surface the donut is set on so the column tilts to one side. To fix this, I cut a circle out of a 2x4 to the size of the donut hole and easily mounted to column through the donut center and into the 2x4. Problem fixed.
