Great All-Rounder
Pros: • Airbrush-Ready: The paints are pre-thinned and work flawlessly with my airbrush, providing smooth and even coverage without the need for additional thinning. • Versatile Application: While designed for airbrushing, these paints also perform well with traditional brush techniques, offering flexibility in application. • Vibrant Colours: The set includes a well-curated selection of basic colours that are highly pigmented, ensuring vibrant and consistent results. • User-Friendly: The dropper bottles are convenient, allowing for precise dispensing and minimising waste. • Low Odour and Easy Cleanup: Being water-based, these paints have minimal odour and clean up easily with water, making them ideal for indoor use. Cons: • Drying Time: Some colours take longer to dry, which can be a minor inconvenience during extended painting sessions. • Colour Range: While the set covers basic colors, it lacks certain shades like bright oranges and yellows, which may require additional purchases for specific projects. Overall, the Vallejo Model Air Basic Paint Set offers excellent quality and value, especially for those new to airbrushing or seeking reliable paints for various modeling projects. Its ease of use and consistent performance make it a worthwhile investment for hobbyists and professionals alike.

Nice selection
All the basic colours, nicely boxed, good paint for airbrushing.

Good specialty paints, odd selection of colours
I really like the Vallejo air paints, they work well over a white, grey or white zenithal undercoat, even when used with a normal brush. I wouldn't want to use these paints over a black basecoat (at least not by normal brush) because they are nowhere near as opaque as regular model paints. For that reason I also wouldn't recommend them as someone's first or only model paints. I'm a bit baffled by the choice of colours in this selection box -nearly half the box is various shades of yellow and brown, some of which are extremely similar to each other. I would have liked it if the Light Brown and Yellow Ochre had been dropped for something like a purple and a dark red instead, add a bit more variety instead. This lack of variety is why I'm giving it 4/5 instead of 5/5.

Overall excellent - just not for white priming
I ordered these to undercoat some models (I'm aware they're not designed for priming). I have an average quality airbrush and a decent compressor. I first mixed a deep red, thinned it with water and sprayed it directly onto some plastic models. Great! Quick-drying, opaque and smooth. Then I mixed a orange flesh tone, thinned with water, again directly onto plastic. Good results, not fully opaque. Painted some on top with a brush afterwards, worked well enough. Next a black / blue mix with a touch of brown and grey. Thinned with isopropyl alcohol because I hoped the airbrush would be easier to clean. Really good results, separated after being stored in the pot but came out of the airbrush nice and even. I tried to clean up a mistake later and a little of the undercoat rubbed off. Amazing how opaque it was when so thin, so I can forgive the low durability. Lastly I tried to undercoat in pure white. Thinning with isopropyl alcohol made it thicker, clogging the airbrush. Cleaned airbrush and tried water, but it was too thin and formed droplets on the plastic. Lastly I tried higher pressure with less water which worked better but the airbrush would splatter a bit. Overall, these have worked great since they're not designed as primers but are still versatile and opaque. I have only used a little as a second coat, so am mainly reviewing these from experience directly on plastic.

Essential
Yes these are expensive for a really quite small quantity of paint. However they are essential for spraying, where paint has to be very thin, as they have an exceptionally high pigment density
