Gift Set, FM35905

I bought these fountain pens for my son who is 9 and needs them as part of his schoolwork. They are great quality and he is writing nicely with them. Having a range of inks and pens is great as he can try different styles and has some cartridges spare.

I've recently decided to get back into calligraphic writing after a long break away and wanted a set of reasonably priced, good quality, cartridge pens to use to help me get my hand in again to writing (I have a gorgeous dip ink pen set that I had used for years but wanted to have flexibility to take pens with me when I travel so I can practice without the hassle of packing bottles of inks). After reading the reviews here I made the decision to purchase this set.My overall opinion after using them for a few weeks is that they are good enough quality for a beginner/for travelling with. The ink colours provided are nice and clear (I particularly like the red and green) however, the range of nib sizes are on the small side for me. I like to write with larger, chunkier letters and in blackscript but all the provided nibs are too small for this font. They are good for cursive calligraphy fonts though. The pens are very light, and feel exceptionally cheap compared to some budget options available.The major issue I have had is with ink flow in the 2.1 nib. It is sporadic at best, working for a few strokes and then drying out. I have cleaned the nib and chamber and tried with a different ink cartridge yet the issue remains (frustratingly).Hopefully a second wash through with water will resolve the issue but if not then I'll have to look for an alternative.

Love this pen set - easy to hold and enhances my italic handwriting . Would like an indication on the outside of the pens which is which nib size a s they look identical. Well worth the price

The nibs in these fountain pens aren't as smooth as I would have hoped but are great for beginners calligraphy.

Bought as a gift for my 8 year old and was really pleased with it. The range of nib sizes is great and the different coloured inks really appealed to her. It comes with a helpful booklet to give some guidance to a calligraphy beginner. The pens write really nicely and it feels like a quality gift.

Check the set carefully, ours came with the wrong select of pens and only 8 cartridges.I'm updating my review, the item arrived with 2 x 1.4 nibs in stead of the 1x1.4 and 1x2.1 and with 8 cartridges instead of the 12 stated on the box.The tape seal on the box also looked amateur, so it may well be they are swapping things around and hoping people wont' notice.

The pens are okay, however, my set came with 2 x 1.4 pens instead of 1 x 1.4 and 1 x 0.9 which is quite disappointing.
