Bahco 2058/S26 Ratchet Socket Bit Set, 26 Pieces

Very portable kit, with a good selection of bits and sockets. Overall it's 90x100x32 mm, but this is no toy! The ratchet head's diameter is the tiniest I've seen, significantly smaller than the Bosch or Wera, and the bits actually fit up inside it, which makes this Bahco kit the tool of choice for confined access. Bits seem industrial in feel and finish. Robust. The hex extension is excellent, featuring both a mag and ball-bearing mechanism, with a smooth quality to releasing the bits. Love it. One gotcha - the insert that holds the bits is closed-cell foam, as opposed to blow-molded plastic or similar, so I can't imagine this lasting forever. Overall, impressed.

I have long craved one of these little beauty's & at last I got my sticky little paws on one .....I was not disappointed. I first clapped my avaricious eyes on this set of sockets & bits when a technition came to fix some equipment at work.I had been used to seeing him arrive with a very heavy tool kit in several hard bags on a set of sack trucks but this day he arrived with a small bag.....He said he was tired of carrying all that gear around & had had a rethink on his tool kit.He still had a large tool kit but that stayed in the car & he only brought it in when he could not fix the problem with the small kit he carried with him. That was very rarely since he only had need of a few tools from it of late & those could be fetched without the whole kit & kaboodle coming in.It had changed his life....no more looking for parking places outside the clients to dump off the tool kit & then finding a proper parking place ,no trudging up several flights of stairs hauling the sack trucks behind him because the building had no elevator.It had streamlined his workday & actually saved him money in parking fines for parking in awkward places to unload the kit & this little wonder had been part of the solution.I was inspired !!!......& for the first time in my life I had "TOOL ENVY"!!!!....I know you know what I mean.I had to get a set.!!! I did & I love it to death. PS>The rest of his tool kit solution :- A Leatherman mutitool (Ive forgotten which one as it paled into insignificance beside the Bacho) A Volt meter Some fancy looking wire strippers A small Laptop for diagnostic work A few spare parts that he regularly used & a couple of other ordinary tools & the Bacho (This was used to access the cabinets and remove the mechanical parts)

This is excellent value for money and very handy. I do a lot of travelling for work and due to its small size this set is ideal for throwing in a peli case with spare parts as it has the most common bits I need. The small handle means I can also access screws on equipment that I would not be able to reach without taking the whole system apart. The quality is also good, especially at this price. Granted, a couple of bits do get stuck in the handle (like the socket adapter) due to the ball bearing however its size means you can;t quite get enough grip to pull it out again. This is a very minor gripe and to be honest I would prefer the bits staying in rather than dropping somewhere inaccessible.

First off this set is VERY small - like the entire box is little bigger than a pack of 20 cigarettes, so it isn't for big tough jobs, but having said that, the ratchet spanner looks to be strong and is beautifully made! It's worth buying this set for the ratchet spanner alone! It's just that I would not recommend using it on jobs that need plenty of "grunt". I was recommended to buy this set by a gas fitter who came to install our new gas fire. He had to fit a cover screw on the fire in a very tight space and produced this set. I was immediately impressed as the space he had to get in was very tight indeed and no right-angled screwdriver would had fitted, but this ratchet spanner did, so I bought the set - and glad I did! I've used it on several awkward access jobs already with great success. The rest of the set is nothing overly exciting other than a well-made set of various commonly used 1/4 inch hex bits, a hex to square adapter, an extension bit holder and five metric spanner heads - for which you need the hex to square adapter. These used to be good quality and would last ages. I have bought 2 recently and both ratchets have failed. Won’t be buying again unfortunately.

The item arrived in a timely manner and was well packed. The kit itself is designed for those awkward jobs that require a miniature socket set and this does the job very well indeed with one small problem that should have been picked up by the Bahco R&D Department. The bits fall out when working at severe angles or upside down as there is no retainer like it big brothers. Taking this aside the kit is well made for its purpose, it should not be used as a cheaper version of a socket set. It comes in a robust container that fits well in the tool bag pocket or alike. Most of the general bits are there too and the smaller sockets supplement the kit with any of the security 6mm bits fitting the ratchet and magnet holder. Come on Bahco get the mod sorted and update to make it a great kit.

This is just the most fantastic mini socket set . Don't be put off by it's small size- The small format makes it easy to pack , and it weighs very little. I've lost count of how many times it's become invaluable. Every aspect of it is very well thought out and incredibly well engineered.

Als ich dieses Teil auf dem Amazon Market Place bei Cut 360 für 26,65 inkl. Porto bestellte, habe ich eigentlich eine aufgepeppelte China-Box erwartet wie jede Bohrmaschinen-Hersteller sie anbietet. Diese Bit-Boxen sind eigentlich nicht schlecht, es ist gute Standardware, manchmal mit sehr guten Mini-Knarren, aber nicht ganz so raffiniert wie die Bits von Wera oder Wiha, vor allem die Diamantstaub-beschichteten oder aus Massiv-Edelstahl.. BOX Die Bahco-Box ist Kompakt, robust und simpel, dadurch funktionniert sie reibungslos und zuverlässig, im Gegensatz zu den Designer-Boxen von z.B. Wolfcraft die mit ihr gefedertes Scharnier einem um die Ohren fliegt oder die runde Box von Schröder, die ihre Bits verliert und ständig aud ihre Halterung springen und dem rotierenden Deckel einklemmen. Der Kunsstoff ist dick und robust, aber hart, so daß bei einem Fall mit Risse und Bruch zu rechnen ist. Die Axen der Scharniere an beiden äussersten Enden des Deckels sind auch nicht besonders dick aber ohne grobe Gewalt halt die Box ewig. Sie öffnet und schließt auch leicht und absolut genau. Eine kleine Gummi-Umantelung wie bei Hitachi oder manche Bosch Premium-Line hätte der Bahco auch gut getan, vor allem zum Schutz und wegen der Griffigkeit, denn die Oberfläche ist sehr glatt und mit schmierigen Händen sehr glitschig. Der Inhalt ist in hochwertigem Schaumgummi eingebettet, kein billiges, leicht biegsames Plastik, der die Bits zu fest hält, so daß man eine Spitzzange und bis zu 12 Kg Zugkraft braucht um die Bits aus ihrem Plastikkorsett mit Gewalt herauszureißen wie bei der Wera Tool-Check 30 teilig oder Makita 47-Teilig mit Bit-Schraubenzieher. Bei der Bahco kann man gleich loslegen ohne vorher 2 Stunden lang jeden Bit und jedes Loch mit Pinsel, Wattestäbchen und Silikonfett gängig zu machen. Die Bits liegen zwar sehr nah aneinander, aber dadurch daß das Schaumgummi ein ideales Material ist, ist die Festigkeit und die Handhabung leicht und harmonisch. SORTIMENT Das Sortiment enthält 19 Bits, 5 Nüsse, einen Schnellspann-Bithalter (Fachausdruck: Quick-release) und last bust not least die heiß begehrte Mini-Ratsche. BITS Im Vergleich zu der etwa gleich große Hitachi-Bit-Box 40018004 mit der beinah gleiche Mini-Ratsche und 16 Bits , behinhaltet die Bahco 3 Schlitzklingen - aber nur 5 Stecknüsse statt 6. Ich finde das etwas unglücklich, weil Niemand arbeitet seit 30 Jahren mehr freiwillig mit Schlitz und solche Klingen findet man überall und an jeden Taschenmesser. Aber was soll' s, die Philosophie dieser Box ist eben die Vollständigkeit und es ist alles da, von PH und PZ 1 bis 3, von Torx 10 bis 30 und eben Schlitzklingen von 4,5 und 6mm. Projahn, Hitachi, Wera, Stanley etc. legen auch 3-4 Schlitzkligen in ihre Boxen STECKNÜSSE Zwischen 10 und 13mm klafft eine Lücke, die anderen nicht haben oder nur z.T.: Die Hitachi hat eine 11 aber keine 12mm, die Wera Tool-Check eine 12 aber keine 11mm. Lediglich die Stanley 39-teilig deckt alles lückenlos von 6 bis 13mm inkl. Die Stanley ist etwas größer, alle 4 Bit-Boxen (Bahco, Hitachi, Wera, Stanley) haben sowohl sehr gute Mini-Ratschen als auch sehr gute Quick-release-Bit-Halter und Stecknüsse. Es gibt auch noch Bit-Boxen mit Ratsche, z.B. von Projahn, entweder ohne Bit-Halter oder ohne Stecknüsse. Es gibt auch noch eine Metabo 630426000 26-teilig (ab 23 Euro) und eine Bosch 2607017160 27-teilig (ab rd. 19 Euro), beide mit Mini-Ratsche und Bit-Halter aber auch mit Lücken zwischen 10 und 13mm. Um die Stecknüsse zu betreiben, muss man erst den mitgelieferten 4-Kant-Adapter in der Knarre stecken. Dieser ist so glatt poliert, daß er bereits mit trockenen Händen sehr schwer zu greifen ist. Am Besten man steckt ihn nur ganz wenig in dem Schaumgummi oder packt ihm mit einem Stück Papier. BITHALTER und UMSCHALTKNARREN Die Bahco, Stanley, Wera, Bosch und Metabo haben, neben der Mini-Knarre vernünftige Bithalter. Der von Bahco ist ganz aus Metall (Wera hat 1 empfindlichen Kunststoffring) kann locker mithalten. Er funktionniert leichtgängig und präzise mit eine deutliche mechanische und akustische Rückmeldung. Ein Einfahren und Schmieren ist nicht notwendig. Die Mini-Knarren der o.g. Bit-Boxen haben sehr unterschiedliche Konstruktionen. Die von Projahn besteht aus 3 übereinander vernieteten Stahlplatten, die von Wera, Stanley und Metabo sind massiv et sehen aus wie geschrumpften, erwachsenen Umschaltknarren, die von Hitachi, Bosch und Bahco sehen zierlicher und wie einen leicht gekröptten Ringschlüssel mit einem Kunststoffring an einem Ende für die 6-Kant-Aufnahme aus, übrigens auch bei Wera, QUALITÄT / STANDFESTIGKEIT Wie beim Benzinverbrauch hängt die Lebensdauer eines Bits nicht nur von seinen Eigenschaften wie Legierung, Geometrie, Paßform etc. sondern auch vom Umgang mit dem Gaspedal bzw. Akkuschrauber. Deswegen könnte ich bisher nirgendwo irgendwelche wissenschaftlich ermittelten Werte über die Schraubvorgänge eines Bits finden. Man sagt, daß Baumarktware um die 5 Euro gut ist für einige Dutzend Schraubvorgänge, Top-Ware um die 4 - 5 Euro / Bit soll mehrere Tausend Schraubvorgänge leisten. Daher sind Profi-Bits wirtschaftlicher. Vermutlich ist die Wera die stabilste der Mini-Knarren mit angeblich bis zu 75 Nm und die anderen um 40 Nm, aber das ist nicht bewiesen und ich habe es nicht erprobt. Egal, 40 Nm ist für die Größe gewaltig und ich habe noch keine Rezension gelesen wo die Rede von einem Bruch wäre. Andererseits schraubt natürlich Niemandem an einem LKW-Rad mit den Dingen. Ich denke, man kann abschliessend bestimmen, daß die Knarren viel stabiler sind als sie aussehen und für das Schrauben am Fahrrad, Motorrad und Auto bis 11-12mm ausreichen. Während Mini-Knarre, Stecknüsse und Adapter aus leicht unterschiedliche Chrom-Vanadium Legierungen bestehen, sind die Bits eher dunkelgrau und matt, daher tippe ich auf eine Molybden-Silizium-Legierung. Die Oberfläche ist mikroskopisch rauh und die Kanten von Schlitz, Kreuz und Torx sind schön scharf gefräst damit sind die Bits richtig bissig. Dieser Eindruck fügt sich harmonisch in das Gesamtbild ein, ich habe nirgendwo bei dem Artikel den Eindruck, daß irgend etwas billig oder unterdurchschnittlich ist, sondern es ist in allen seinen Eigenschaften gute bis sehr gute Standardware in Handwerkliche Qualität. Das wird auch bestätigt durch die Rezensionen, davon einige von Handwerkern, die schon mehrere Jahre täglich damit arbeiten. PREIS / LEISTUNGSVERHÄLTNIS Damit schließt sich der Kreis. Die Bahco-Bit-Box ist zwar kein teueres Erzeugnis der absoluten Spitzenklasse, dafür halb so teuer und solide Qualität und keineswegs Discounterware oder preiswertes Zeug, daß im Baumarkt im Kassenbereich für das spontane Mitnehmen ausgelegt wird. Box, Schaumgummi, Architektur, Beschriftung, Sortiment und Verarbeitung zeugen durch die Bank von Kompetenz und Sachkunde, gar Liebe zum Detail. Dieser Artikel ist nicht für das Auge konstruiert sondern für eine regelmäßige und längere Benutzung. Auch wenn ich im Werkzeughandel es gewohnt bin, für einen und demselben Artikel Preisverhältnisse von 1 zu 3 oder gar 1 zu 4 mit Erstaunen zu entdecken, so ist das Amazon-Angebot recht günstig und stellt mit 26,65 inkl. Porto die Untergrenze dar. Aus der Summe der o.g. Einzelfeststellungen gibt es von meiner Sicht und angesicht des Preises glatte 5 Sternen.
