No spills carrying it back to the freezer. - I got this because my Mum had a few and they looked really good. This was so much better than it should have been for the bargain price. It's great quality - even better than my Mum's - and 4+ years later, it still looks brand new and works like it did on day one!! Great for keeping the ice cubes clean as they're in the freezer with frozen foods which gives off crumbs once they're open and your pulling items out in the freezer sometimes. Great idea, great quality. Would highly recommend this one.👍 Review: Very nice tray...just ditch the lid if you only use it for ice cubes - For those of us who just use the tray for ice cubes rather than baby food, the lid seems somewhat redundant. With the lid on, you can't judge how much water to put in or if each cube compartment is filled to the right level (too much water and the cubes will stick together across compartments). Also, if you use the lid, you'll have to take it off and put it back on again every single time you want some ice cubes! I simply threw away the lid because it's utterly pointless for ice cube use. Having a spurious lid doesn't lose it marks, especially when I paid only 1.57 for the tray, which itself is very good. 12 nice and large ice cubes and they easily pop out with only a slight twist of the plastic tray (this surprised me because my previous plastic tray needed to be heavily bent to get the cubes out and this eventually split it). As I said, get rid of the lid if you're just making ice cubes and you'll be very happy with this product

Great product! Bought 6 trays in January 2014: been in daily use since then!
Great product! We bought six of these, via Amazon, back in January 2014, and they have been in constant use since then. Still in great condition! The six trays stack neatly at the lefthand side of the top drawer in our freezer, so we always have plenty of ice readily at hand and easy to access. As we empty one tray we refill it with water (filtered - we live in London) and put it to the bottom of the stack, so as to have a rotating supply of ice. Although one can fill the tray via the hole, we find it best, and easier, to fill it open, laying the tray on the countertop or table, filling it to about the level of the inner partitions; put the lid back on, being careful to make sure that it is sealed, including the little 'trap door', then put it back in the freezer, preferably at the bottom of the stack.

Great alternative to regular ice trays, and far cheaper than an automated ice maker
Update: I take the whole lid off to fill now, but the lid serves two purposes; avoids spilling water when putting in the freezer, and allows you to stack these. I would not place at an angle though because I don't know how water proof these are and the lid does not isolate each pod. For the money these are really great value Original review: Seems easy to use. There's definitely a technique to filling as a couple times where I thought it was absolutely full, it turned out a couple of the pods were near empty. Great idea because these can be stacked. Easy to remove, just twist very slightly. The material is flexible. So much easier than the stupid system in my freezer; a dual tray rotary system where most of the ice would stick. That's now in the bin and I ordered more of these.

Great idea, hassle free ice cubes
Wow, this is such a simple idea, but they're brill. Basically, you fill the container, seal the top, and no more spilled ice cube trays in the freezer. Works quite well, and they seem to be quite flexible - I simply give a twist and it's usually enough to loosen up all the ice cubes. Price is really really really good, especially compared to high street prices for similar type products. Definitely recommended!!

Just a normal ice cube tray with a lid. (Not fully sealed).
Cheap and works well as a normal ice cube tray, can't really fault it there... HOWEVER, if you're looking for a fully sealed ice cube tray this won't be for you. When buying I was under the assumption that this was gonna be a fully sealed ice cube tray that you could flip upside down without spilling. (I've had one like that before which are great for freezers that lack an "ice shelf" and you have to put the tray among food at an angle). This might be my fault entirely for misunderstanding and thinking that it looked like my former ice tray because of the lid, I simply want to warn people that this does INDEED leak/spill if held at an angle. (Guess the price should have been a warning sign...)

Very robust
Way better than ordinary ice cube holders. I don't fill them with the small opening. Just take the lid off, fill as normal then put the lid back on. Easy to transport to the freezer without spilling water over the kitchen. You WILL need to use warm/hot water on the back of the containers to loosen the cubes. DO this before you lift the lid off. Then take the lid off, turn upside down and bend slightly. They do accept quite a bit of pressure so don't be afraid of that. Just don't go mad. If they don't come out then run them under a bit more warm water. Mine have lasted over a year now with using them every day - literally!!

If you love ice you will love making ice with this ice tray.
I love ice, so I hate when it goes wrong: an ice tray that makes ice that is too small; an ice tray that is too stiff so that you cannot easily remove the ice, an ice tray that doesn't have a well fitting lid, so the water you poured in spills everywhere or one which lets in odours and flavours from your freezer, tainting your ice, making it useless. These ice trays do none of these things. They are by far some of the best things I have ever purchased from Amazon. Except for the pour bit of the lid - that's pretty worthless. If you fill up using the lid water collects there and then will freeze the lid closed. Also to get the water to fill the ice tray you have to tilt the tray while you are filling it - but the water you are pouring in then either starts to pour back out or collect across the top of the lid or overflow onto the lid and its just a mess. But the product is great despite this. Also its totally dirt cheap. Rediscover your love of ice - buy today!
