superior and robust (using mine to roll polymer clay)
I took a very long time deciding on which pasta machine to buy and after much debate and a lot of thought this was the one that looked like it was the best value for money and would be perfect for my needs. I am not using it to make pasta and will not be using the added attachment that comes with it. It is easy to detach that part from the machine. I am using my machine for rolling polymer clay. It works like a charm and really easy to use. It is exactly the same principle as it would be for rolling pasta. It has a number dial at the side that pulls out and around and you can roll your pasta to the thickness you desire. I have used both the thicker and thinner options (goes up to 9) . For me the bonus is that you can easily clean it and although there is a booklet with the machine I never read it. I used a paper towel and using my hand on the roller dial I rubbed down the roller and got all the different colours of clay off it before starting on a different colour. The back of the machine is easy to stick your hand up and wipe around there and once again I only used a clean paper towel as I didn't want to get the machine wet. It stores back inside the box it came in perfectly. I used the tool that holds it down on the table by turning it and securing it tightly by hand so the machine doesn't shift about. It works well and help the machine in place. The handle for turning just slots in and can be removed again too without any effort whatsoever. It is a really great machine and I would highly recommend it. It is made in Italy and I would say as a pasta machine that it is designed to be is brilliant and works well for anyone buying it to use with polymer clay too.

Made me start making my own pasta again. (Lasagne, Fettuccine and Tagliolini model)
Like a lot of folks during lock-down I've been spending a lot more time in the kitchen. I love fresh pasta, but my skills with a rolling pin are sadly lacking. Had used a friends cheap pasta machine years ago and found it a bit of a pain as things always seemed to jam or fall off. So I decided to treat myself to a bit of a Rolls Royce machine. I could've spent even more on one of their fancy coloured models but the Scotsman in me went for the much more acceptably priced Marcato Atlas 150 pasta machine Chrome, Silver Wellness, version. Can in a sturdy box, with no assembly required. Went through the cleaning process and then started on my pasta dough. Once made and rested it was time to get the machine going. The process was pretty painless and I reckon with some more practice I'll get a lot quicker at it. The dough went through the rollers like silk, adjusting the thickness levels was very easy. The model I'd purchased was for Lasagne, Fettuccine and Tagliolini so I though my first batch should be fettuccine. Went through the cutters with no problems and soon I had a large bowl of pasta noodles waiting to be cooked. After cooking I made then with a butter and lemon sauce and topped them with some chicken roasted in Mediterranean herbs. Very tasty, as I'd made the dough with 50/50 flour and semolina it had a great mouth feel and it was all soon gobbled up. The next night I just rolled the past through the machine and hand cut the sheets into big fat pappardelle noodles. I turned them into one of the best dishes on the planet, beef stroganoff. Pure heaven. Since then I've been making coloured and flavoured pastas, using it to make ravioli, perogies, pot-stickers and all manner of things. Great machine, always seamless in use, easy to clean, has encouraged me to make things I've either shied away from as being difficult or just too time consuming. Yes there are less expensive machines out there, but they always seem trouble to use or get bad reviews, For me this has been a joy.

This is no impasta!
I love the look of this machine and really is a solid piece of equipment. It is high-quality, Italian-made pasta machine that delivers excellent results for homemade pasta lovers. Its sturdy chrome-plated steel construction gives it a durable and professional feel, making it a great investment for those who enjoy making fresh pasta regularly. It requires clamping to a solid surface and takes a little practice to be able to turn the machine and move the pasta through the rollers. The machine is pretty easy to clean and you can buy different attachments for different shapes of pasta.

Easy to roll out, bit more tricky to cut
Made some tagliatelle, the machine was pretty easy to use but I did have a bit of trouble with cutting into strips, as it clogged on one side... Tbf I've only used it once so it might be partly poor technique... But possibly in addition to the issue described below! I notice that there was a rod and plastic strip in the box when I opened it, I just assumed that they were spare... Although I thought it was odd to have a spare metal rod, not like it's going to wear out! Anyway, when I had finished with the making. I disassembled to give it a clean, this is when I found that the metal rod and plastic "shroud" were actually meant to be fitted and weren't spare. Makes me wonder if this was a return or somebody's first day on the assembly line? Bit disappointed really, I bought the most expensive one thinking I'd pay for quality. It is very solid and I'm hoping that I won't have the same issues with clogging of the cutter next time I use it, now I've assembled it correctly. In fairness, I've only dropped a star because of the incorrect assembly. It's a pretty good bit of kit.

Great pasta machine!
I've never used a pasta machine before - so I cannot compare with other machines, but this is great! Really solid, easy and very effective to use, plus, wonderfully shiny and expensive looking! It needs to be clamped to the worktop (we have to remove a kitchen draw to allow enough room to clamp because we didn't have sufficient overhang, but we figured that before purchase). It clamps securely to the worksurface without any damage and it's really smooth and simple to operate. You don't wash it with water, so I've used a soft, clean blusher-brush to clean the flour off the machine and this works perfectly. I'm sure a soft paint brush or something similar would be as good. It both looks and feels like a good quality machine - and since purchase, we've made a fair bit of pasta now! It's a great purchase, and why I didn't make my own pasta before is a loss! Fresh, homemade pasta - is so much nicer!

Excellent Machine.
Just bought and used once. No problems using the machine after watching various You Tube videos. Results for a first attempt very very good. The machine was effortless to use and was very precise. Although expensive I believe it to be worth it. Surprised that there wasn’t a recipe book of sorts included

A first class pasta machine
I looked at several pasta making machines before settling on the Marcato Atlas 150. I did a tour of the local shops and department store and I was left in no doubt as to the quality of this machine. Construction is stainless steel with only the rollers and cutters being aluminium. Adjusting the setting of the roller thickness could not be easier and it will roll to thickness of between 4.0mm down to 0.8mm with a total of 9 settings. The “C” clamp used to camp the machine to your work surface is good and strong, and once tightened holds it rock steady. In operation the Atlas 150 is smooth and easy to use and I can detect no play at all in the rollers or cutters. It also comes with a comprehensive manual to get you started. This is the first pasta making machine I have ever purchased and over the years I have learned that buying the best you can afford is always best, and cheaper in the long run. If you can make good pasta dough this machine will produce good even thickness pasta sheet for many years to come. Mmm, Delicious homemade Lasagne for dinner tonight, time to get the Atlas out.

A solid pasta machine, well worth the investment.
While my headline is the long and short of my opinions of the Marcato Atlas 150, there *are* a couple of caveats. 1) Easy to clean at 4/5. The caveat here is that you sufficiently flour your pasta dough before running through it, which results in not actually needing to clean it at all, really. However, all pasta machines are a veritable nightmare to clean if you run unfloured dough through them, as it just clogs them up. 2) Well worth the investment. If you make pasta once a year then I can't say I advise getting a pasta machine at all, really. Anything cheaper than this (as in, if you go for a ~£15 "noodle" machine) is probably going to be awful, I initially tried one and it arrived rusty. That being said, if you also plan on getting, say, a nice expensive Kitchen Aid mixer which has a pasta nozzle, this may well be an unfortunate waste of money. Despite these two caveats, I'm thoroughly enjoying my pasta machine. If you like cooking, but also don't have the hundreds to spend on a decent mixer and the further hundreds to spend on the attachments, this is 100% worth the money.
