ETUDE HOUSE Zero Sebum Drying Powder

So since I’m pushing 40 I didn’t even know these existed until my teen daughter told me! Since a course of steroids a few years ago and biologic meds I’ve found my skin has become so oily and shiny. I only wear a little concealer and light foundation powder but would still get this film of oil over my face (I’m Middle Eastern decent so I have naturally more oil in my skin anyway) but this has been amazing at completely removing the oil and shine even during the recent hot weather! I went for the what I believe is the “old style” due to reading reviews and glad I did, it has a kind of mint fragrance which is really refreshing and only smells during application and then fades but the effects last all day. Don’t hesitate to buy, I genuinely didn’t think anything would work but this far exceeded my expectations.

This really keeps oily shine at bay however if you have the slightest hint of dry skin this powder will find it, cling to it and accentuate it massively! It’s great to wear lightly dusted over make up to set it but also lightly dusted on moisturised skin to go more natural and keep the shine away!

It does need touching up more often but there's no powder that magically disappears your sebum but this helps maintain it.

This is a cheap “baking” product. If you just want to bake your face and don’t have really bad skin problems then this product is fine. BUT, if you were wanting to buy this to help with preventing or covering up acne, then this is not the product for you. It just either made the acne worse cuz it clogged the area, or it dried out the skin around the acne and never actually helped alleviate the issue.

One of the only products that can keep me matte through most of the day! It’s so strong that I use my normal powder as usual, then blot this into my t zone and oily areas. Don’t put it on your whole face, you’ll look like a ghost. Great product though for anyone with really oily skin wanting their makeup to last!

Nice powder - comes with a little puff which I put it on with and then blend with my own brush. Easily blendable and doesn’t give a heavy powder finish. Container came covered in sticky labels which looked awful but I managed to get off and clean up stickiness.

Highly recommend: it’s light in weight and make skin so smooth :) love using it:)

Great for oily skin especially in warmer months. I used to purchase this product very regularly off Amazon but for some reason the price has skyrocketed well over even half of what it used to be. Product is great but I can find elsewhere for its original & much fairer price- considering its tiny size.

Loose powder

Cette poudre matifiante est d'une efficacité redoutable. Le teint reste matifié de très nombreuses heures et pour moi qui porte des lunettes j'ai souvent sur l'aile du nez la marque de mes lunettes et bien agréablement surprise lorsque je retire mes lunettes je n'ai plus de marque. J'ai acheté de nombreuses marques assez cher qui ne font pas du tout le travail. Foncez pour tous ceux et celles qui ont des problèmes de brillance de peau.

I purchased this product on a whim, because it showed up on the suggested list that others had purchased. I had been using the 12 hour Becca mattifying primer for a while. The Becca primer was the best primer I had found to compete with my extremely oily skin, but it still fell short. The Zero Sebum powder is absolutely amazing!!! I use it as a primer after moisturizing. It has a light appealing smell and is barely noticeable on my skin. Then, I put on my make-up, which is a mineral powder foundation. I have tried liquid foundations in the past, but they always make my skin more oily. Usually with any other primer, I have to blot my skin at least every 2 hours, no lie! With the Zero Sebum Powder, I have been able to decrease the time to 4-5 hours!! And, even when I do blot I use only 1 blotting sheet instead of 4. The other advantage to this product is, you can use the powder as a blotting powder over your make-up instead of blotting sheets. The powder is extremely fine and goes on nicely without any caking affect!!! After 4-5 hours, I will use the powder as a touch up. Then after another 4 hours, I use a couple blotting sheets and finish with the Zero Sebum powder. I have very fair skin with cystic acne, so I keep my make-up on until I know I can be at home and not have any where else to go that day. My cystic acne leave hyper-pigmentation marks, making my skin look as if I have more "active" breakouts than I actually have. I have done almost everything possible to help control the amount of oil my skin produces...moisturize with natural products and decrease the amount of dairy in my diet, but it is always an issue. I use a retinol product to help cell turnover for my acne. My oily skin and cystic acne, are unfortunately partly a genetic issue from my parents that also struggle, to a hormonal issue also. I haven't used the product long enough to know if it will cause issue with increasing my acne, but I don't anticipate it will. Usually after a couple days of using a product I can tell if it will be a problem or not. So far, so good. I would encourage anyone with oily skin to try this powder, because it has been life changing so far. I will be trying more products from Etude House since this product is the best I have found!
