Built to last - even as a base model
Great product. Got it for my 2 years sons birthday and he can reach the pedals without too much struggle. Although he can't actually pedal it yet... He still loves it. Should get years out of this thing. This is a very well built little tractor. Took me about 40 mins to put together (so not sure what some of the other reviews are going about when they say 2h+). I have recently compared his to the more expensive versions by Jolly (which have gears, rubber tyres etc) - which is amazing! But... For the price this model is just fantastic. Yes you can pay £200 for the top models by Rolly... But I picked this one up for £60 and it will last years I'm sure. I have 2 boys and I believe I will be buying another many more from the Rolly catalogue over the next 10 years (I honestly didn't realise there were so many in the range... Plus the various trailors and accessories is just crazy). This is wel worth the money and I would recommend it for any child 2.5 and upwards really. It's solid and built to last. Great buy!

Excellent product
Really excellent product, highly recommended. Assembly can be a little tricky, here is my assembly advice (for tractor, loader, trailer): Set aside at least 2 hour. Have a rubber mallet or hammer, screwdrivers and adjustable spanner (or socket set) to hand. Use a room with plenty of floor space. 1) Put stickers on first 2) Assemble main tractor next - Layout ALL parts first. Set out the nuts, bolts, washers etc in the same order as they appear on the instruction sheet. This will make it very easy to determine which size screw/bolt etc you should use for each step. NOTE: A few spare items are provided and there are 2 disposable tools (small plastic tubes) provided to hold the wheel caps when they are being hammered on. Also note that the axel for the trailer has an identifying sticker marking it, so set it aside. - Carefully study the instruction diagram for each step. The diagrams, while they are small, do contain all the information you need. Check, then double check, each part. It can be useful to refer to the picture on the box, or even the picture on this page, if you want to be really sure of how it should look. - ENSURE THE TYRE(WHEEL) THREADS ARE CORRECT. Carefully study the pictures and diagram and make sure the tyre threads are correct. The inside thread of the right wheels should match the outside thread of the left wheels. 3) Assemble the trailer next - this should be fairly straightforward after having assembled the wheels of the tractor. Again ensure the wheel threads are correct. 4) Assemble the loader - Some steps require a little force, particular pushing on the plastic yellow ends. I also found a tiny amount of washing up liquid made the job of pushing on the rubber yellow handle much easier.

John Deere Pedal Tractor
The tractor is great, it is very good quality, sturdy and well designed. It is already providing lots of fun for my three year old boy and I don't expect it will fall apart for a long time to come, if at all. We can look forward to our younger 2nd son having a very good hand-me down in years to come. After having read the other customers reviews I admit I wasn't looking forward to the challenge of assembling the tractor, especially with my three year old son looking over my shoulder asking if it's ready yet! In other customer reviews there were two pieces of advice, which I took and am very grateful to those reviewers as it helped me complete the assembly happily and with complete success. The advice from others was: 1. The instructions are not easy to follow, nor clear in every step of the way, but with faith and patience were OK. 2. Allow yourself plenty of time. (Because of this advice I gave myself all morning, and completed the task at a very leisurely pace in about two hours. I actually did it with my three year old son who enjoyed passing me the screwdriver and generally "helping". ) I would highly recommend the tractor to anyone else, and if flat packs / home assembly is not your comfort zone then it may be a good idea to find a confident friend to help out. 1 star short of 5 only because the instructions could be made a little easier to follow.

Excellent for money
Excellent size but hard to peddle as very stiff.

Great little ride-on vehicle
Bought this for my 2 year old grandson as I remember all the fun my son had with a similar version 25 years ago. We have had it a couple of months now, and although grandson is as yet a bit too small to master the pedalling, my tow-rope fits neatly through the front to pull him around the garden on it. He has also found it hilarious to be pulled around whilst sitting rear-facing in the trailer. Seems quite robust, and has proved a success with other visiting children (don't tell the grandson :-)) Assembly is quite straightforward, but one word of warning from my experience; pay careful attention when fitting the digger bucket- I wasted about 20 mins having to reassemble that after I managed to put it on upside-down :-(

Cracking tractor, we'll built & sturdy
We ordered this for our tractor obsessed 17month old knowing he wouldn't be able to pedal it yet & he loves it! Having read reviews I was a little apprehensive about ordering it as so many people said it took ages to build - but as Daddy would be doing the building anyway I decided to go ahead & let him deal with it! I don't know what people had been doing when they said it took 3-4hours, my fiancé had it all ready to go in half an hour! It's really sturdy & we'll built, the only gripe is that the pedals only turn one of the rear wheels which seems a bit odd to me - I have visions of my little boy pedalling round in circles when he's older, but still at least I will know where he is! On the whole, a great toy that kids will love.

Good product, awful to build.
The product is of good quality but OH.MY.GOD. it is an absolute f****** nightmare to build!! It took me way longer than anticipated, and I'm pretty sure I am missing a few washers and nuts - which I'll need to add at a later date - though it is currently functional. I was unable to put the wheels on by myself and needed someone to hold the bar whilst I hit the thing on with a hammer. The instructions are also quite small and difficult to clearly see what is required. I would recommend having a bottle of wine to hand, as you will need a large glass after completing it.
