Mama Lupe Low Carb Tortillas 12.5oz

Just tried one of these for the first time. 100% recommend them! I just warmed one up on the hob, sprinkled some cheese on and wrapped it round some cooked bacon. Tasted so good! Texture and taste are great. Perfect low carb wrap. They are a little bit pricey but I’ll definitely be buying more.

I had to order these as my normal supplier had problems with their product ie. falling apart, no stock etc. I am happy to report Mama Lupes has hit it on the spot for me. The wraps come out easily from the packet without tearing or falling apart, the pack is able to be sealed after opening and the taste is fine. I did query from the manufacture the content of carbohydrates and this was their reply:- "In the US they list the Dietery Fibre separately under the Carbohydrate Level. In the UK this figure is deducted at source as Dietery Fibre does not behave as a carbohydrate and is digested straight through the body. If this was labelled in the UK it would say 3g, however the US show 7g Total - 4g Dietery Fibre = 3g." As long as Mama Lupes maintain their quality I will not be going back to the other supplier on this site.

Love it!!? Taste amazing

Very disappointed by these. I usually use the Carbzone low carb wraps, but as they've been long term out of stock I thought I'd try Mama Lupes... not a good choice. These are small wraps, averaging just under 7 inches diameter. The 'best before' date on the packets that arrived were less than two weeks away. The individual tortillas were stuck together in the packet and bent over. They were very difficult to pull apart and stay usable. The Mama Lupes come in at 7g of carb per tortilla, other brands come in at 3g for tortillas of the same size. Taste wise they're salty and bland. Not bland as in 'plain' and goes with anything, but sort of stale cardboard smelling with a dry salty taste. The tortillas are also slightly damp and almost raw, so need heating through. It's noticeable these wraps heat up a lot quicker than other brands and burn when dry fried for more than a couple of seconds. The biggest downside for me was really intense stomach pains after eating a tortilla. I did try a couple more to check (carb craving!) and each time they hit me with doubled over stomach pains. Disappointing. I'll go without until the Carbzone ones are back in stock.

Shame about the high price as I would buy more if they are more economic.

Too small

Best low-carb wraps I've tasted. Plenty in the pack, and they have enough shelf-life that you'll easily eat them all before they expire, and the resealable bag helps to keep them fresh. They aren't huge either, so you won't feel uncomfortably bloated after eating one loaded with pulled pork and cheese.

Hard to find low carb wraps in the UK, these are great tasting, but a little expensive
