Different parts of the description state that its npt or nps, which one is it?

Went Lowes and bought a 1" female threaded adapter and it worked fine. As far As I know that is npt.

Do I need a dc thermostat for this and if so do you sell them

You can not use the AC thermostat with 48V. The thermostat will weld shut trying to turn off the DC power.
