I got these cameras to alert when packages are delivered - because instructions are not followed and packages are left out in the rain. :( And when we visit family I want to know who is coming and going while we are away. These cameras work great. The normal image quality is great and the IR image quality is fine, a little cloudy but works well enough for the motion detection to work, which is what I wanted. Motion detection is great and have active zones so that the detection areas can be identified and customized. The solar panel keeps the battery up at 99% even in these few weeks where there have been many rain storms. When I received the cameras, they needed a FW update - big surprise. But because of my poor ISP, the connection lagged enough to where the FW update process timed out. We have this problem streaming live TV also. I think it is because of the ISP's switches and routers are over subscribed and the tables get cleared and have to reestablish the route and things stop for enough time that the FW update fails. Updating my TV firmware also fails and I have to perform a manual update with a USB drive. It would probably be helpful if the timeout was increased for these cameras. So, I contacted Sovmiku support. They were very responsive, many times replying immediately or the following morning - which is good for being in Hong Kong. They provided a FW image and detailed instructions, with pictures, to create a SD card to upgrade the cameras along with instructions to remove and reinstall the cameras in the App so that the app would pick up the current FW version. I want to say thank you to Sovmikuy support for the great job and satisfying outcome. I'm thinking of purchasing two more cameras and will certainly buy these again.

I have used A LOT of camera in the past few years. I typically only use cameras that give me the ability to have full control over the footage I have stored (typically with an SD card or DVR. These are the SD card style). These cameras have been by far the absolute easiest to install, set up and use. First, the install process was super easy since you are given separate mounts for the solar panel and the camera. Now at first, one may not like this and want the panels to be attached to the camera (which you can do) but having the ability to mount the panels separately gives you more options to place your cameras while giving the panels the most sunlight possible. So with the hardware provided and my power drill, I was able to quickly and easily mount all the cameras I got. Also, as a side note, you don’t need the solar panels at all, you want to connect a USB-C cable and power them that way too. Next, the set up of each camera was extremely simple and quick. They use WiFi and each camera has its own connection to the network. The way it works is you power the camera on (you can do this without a panel attached as they have internal batteries that come with 50% charge but I did charge mine all the way before installing) then the app will have you enter your WiFi password (you only need to enter it once and the app will auto-fill for the rest of the cameras you add to the network) and after that, the app does the rest of the set up. Now I do want to mention the app tries to get you to sign up for a plan to use all the features available but you can get a free 1 month trial too. I am using the premium version right now and with how well it’s working, I think I will be paying for it after the month is up just to have a digital backup of my footage. Using the camera is quite easy. I’m using them on an iPhone 13 ProMax and everything is working quite well and is very responsive when the camera is getting a good WiFi connection. The picture quality is good (see last screenshot in this review, that’s with the camera set to standard definition) and the audio quality is just as good too (more often than not I have seen cameras in this price point have garbage audio but these cameras have done better than expected). The PTZ control works well too but I’m the type that usually sets the camera in one position and leaves it 99% of the time. The motion detection is insanely good. It can tell the difference from a human from a dog on its own but it also can tell if someone is wandering around, standing around or just passing by. You can also zoom in and out too. That and every event will send you a push notification and if you tap that notification, it will allow you to activate an alarm (you can also set the alarm to go off if motion is set in a certain area and/or at a certain time. I added a screenshot of this feature but I blacked out a bunch of the camera view as to not dox myself). It also detects birds and other small animals which is great for me as I have a little nature sanctuary set up in my yard so now I’ll be able to tell when the squirrels are trying to be greedy and steal the bird food, lol. There are a bunch more features I haven’t got to try out yet but I’m going say it’s safe to assume they will work as intended since everything else is working good. Now here is the part where I tell people if I recommend buying these or not. I am going to say I 100% recommend these camera and I am buying more to set up at my grandmas house too. Now I would have came to this decision on the product alone but the customer service people reinforced that decision for me. My delivery man was rough with my packages and broke two of my cameras (I ordered 2 sets of 4 cameras). I contacted customer service and not only did they respond super fast but they made it right just as fast too. They sent me 2 replacement cameras but offered me upgraded versions that work on the same app (which I did accept). They also took the time to make sure everything else I have worked too before sending out the replacements. And this was all done on the same day. No need to send lots of emails, no gaslighting or trying to say it was my fault or anything else. Just a genuine person that genuinely wanted to make sure I was taken care of with zero attempts to upsell me on anything. That was extremely refreshing as I have not had good experiences with other companies when I had similar issues. That and the person that helped me is either a native English speaker or someone who studied English and took the time to master it which made communication with them much easier than other times I have contacted companies in the past.
