RavelUnisex Easy Read Watch with Big Numbers - Analogue Quartz - R0105

Amazing for the price!
The media could not be loaded. I wasn't expecting much at this price point, so obviously you're not expecting this to be a piece that competes against similar looking analogue quartz watches from the budget end of the best known, Japanese maker of well liked, inexpensive models but, in fact, this is really pretty good. Seriously, I kid you not, it's a very presentable, well built looking wee thing.I bought the 36mm model and it sits nicely on my 5⅛ inch wrist. The cashback is undoubtedly made of a decent chunk of actual stainless steel whereas many similarly budget minded watches come with some form of nasty zinc alloy that burns the skin as soon as they're worn for more than a few seconds. My picture showing the rear case shows how crisply the lettering and numbers are formed. This suggests that this watch is far from the cheaply assembled piece of nonsensical junk more often found at this very inexpensive end of the analogue watch range available. The strap is also far better than I expected it to be.I'm impressed that said strap is honestly and openly described as a leather alternative, where many budget pieces are described as real leather. Not only is the strap correctly, truthfully described but, as you will see if you zoom in on the photo that shows the outer finish on the strap, [the strap] looks, wears and feels like a much more expensive one.So far, the watch is keeping excellent time, as a quartz piece should. Sadly not all quartz movements are so accurate, some of my similarly inexpensive quartz pieces lose seconds per day. There is no minute track on the straightforward, uncluttered dial of this watch, so to check its accuracy precisely it is best set at 12 o'clock when you have it out of the packet and are getting it ready to go.(Slight) criticisms as follow:The crown is very light to turn and can cause the minute hand to move when you're pushing said crown in after setting the time. This is easily dealt with by simply ensuring that it is pushed home with a fingertip at either edge of the crown and keeping your fingers from moving, so preventing unwanted moving of the hands. For me, this is no problem at all, indeed I can think of a certain Swiss "luxury" watch in my collection that does exactly the same thing. It's not a fault, simply a characteristic and not indicative of any manufacturing problem - I couldn't find any of those and was trying!Sum up:A good looking, surprisingly well built watch for a lower cost than a new battery for many quartz watches.Parti ularly impressive for me are the quality of manufacture in both rear cover and strap. This is a real bargain and very far from a hastily thrown together piece of the sort that looks and most frequently is poorly made.Well done to the makers of this for supplying a watch that's actually rather good! I may add another colourway to the collection. Thanks for reading, I hope that my words & pictures have been useful.Happy shopping,Jaye ××

Slim Light Simple Classic Cheap - and the watch is qutte nice too
Hassle free transaction.Arrived nice and quickly - just as described and pictured. the strap was leather and reasonably stylish and functional but not the strongest/best quality. Adequate. for purely aesthetic and personal taste I change the strap. since I'm a tinkering sort-a-guy this was easy enough. Thanks the to the design of the watch the 'pins' that held the strap on are seated on holes that go right thru the 'arms' This meant it was simple to get a pin and push the one end from the outside of the arm thru towards the strap. and the strap just plopped off. I could then use the 'pins' again to attach my strap of choice. Tip here is to be very CAREFUL and try to do it say on a table top or with some sort of enclosure because the 'pins' are spring loaded and in the course of popping them back in they can fly off anywhere. It happened at least once with each half of the strap. I did find them each time but they could so easily go missing. Not sure how much force they sprang out with so for litigious reasons and safety reasons I say 'don't try this at home without safety goggles'. I found the easiest way to 'pop' the 'pins' with the new strap in was to 'load the one hole with one end of the pin then use my fingernail to depress the other end and then slide finger nail in to approximate place well in to the arm on the other side. Hold the spindle and slide my nail out. This leaves the spindle/pin wedged in between the arms and safely located at one end. Now Very carefully HOLD the pin/spindle and with your other hand move the watch to make the pin/spindle plop into the hole in the arm. Job done.Sizewise the face and case circle is 33mm across. 25mm where the had adjusting KNOB is. From strap spindle to strap spindle is 40mm. At the thickest i.e. back plat to top of 'glass' lens face cover is 5 to 6 mm.what this means is it could look small on a BIG man I guess but its not too big for a woman to pull off. IT is also quite light. In fact it's slimness and lightness make it a pleasure to wear compared to some of the clunky efforts out there.I've been wearing the watch about a day and a half now and it seems to be keeping reasonable time. for this price I don't expect atomic clock accuracy. just to nearest minute is heaps good enough for me.It doesn't glow in the dark. It doesn't have a beep or an alarm. It doesn't have a day or date or calendar or laser beams. It does have the clearest easiest to read watch face I've seen in years. It is the very definition of a watch face. If your were describing a watch or drawing one to explain to a child or alien visitor THIS is what you would draw,Plain, conservative (small c), CLASSIC.ACID TEST: would I buy again/recommend - DEFINITELY

Great little watch but recent problems with losing time
I have bought this product four times over the years and have been very happy with its price, easy-to-read dial and reliability. However, as mentioned in another review, my most recent buy has been losing time which has caused some awkward moments as I teach online and have to have very accurate time-keeping. Just ordered again and fingers-crossed the new one will be of the original standard.

Looks and feels great. Bought for my husband who us a keen angler and needed a good watch with a larger, clearer dial.

Strap small
The watch is lovely, and totally different to my previous one with a white face. However the strap isn't very long. It just fits. I don't have particularly large wrists. Should maybe have bought a unisex or man's but overall it's a nice watch.

A classic at a great price.
I've gone old school. A nice simple watch. Perfect for places where you can't use your phone. The black one goes with everything. A classic at a good price. Would recommend.
