I've had phone holders that are suction cups or magnets. Suction cups surprisingly suck (meaning they do a poor job of holding your phone). The only suction cup holder that I've had success with are the Ram X-Grip mounts and even then, in certain weather, the suction cup will lose grip and fall. Magnetic disk holders are good if your phone is small and your case is thin. I have a Note 9 with an average case (in my opinion) and the magnet doesn't hold very well. It does the job, but it has fallen before if I go over a large bump. This holder seems to be very sturdy. It inserted into the vent of my 2009 Corolla rather well and after a little bit of twisting and turning, I was able to tighten the holder down pretty well. I don't think the holder is coming out of the vent unless I loosen it. I like the ball joint since it allows me to turn the phone in a direction without having to redo the whole mount. The only 2 downsides are: 1. It holds my phone pretty close to the vent and the center console. This isn't entirely the holder's fault since a) it is the vent, b) The Note 9 is a large phone and c) The Corolla is just set up that way 2. The holders snap in when you place your phone into the holder. I don't entirely believe that the phone is 100% seated in the holder since it snaps so quickly so my OCD requires me to push the phone in. I've only had the holder a few months, so we'll see how it holds up over time.

This little guy is the best phone mount I've ever used. There are some cars with oddly shaped AC vent slats which won't work for this device, but in most of the cars I drive, it works like a charm. The phone grips hold the phone firmly and securely in position and the release tabs are easy to use and in a very accessible position. I've found that over time on bumpy roads if my vent slats are angled downward, the mount will jiggle out and fall, but as long as I keep my slats angled upward, it stays A-OK.

I like this vent mount a lot as it holds my phone securely and the big button to close the arms works easily. (Better than the earlier version) I reduced my review one star because the grips that hold onto the air vent, at least in my car, have to be pushed back into place regularly and mounted low on the vent in order to use the bottom of the plastic to brace the weight against the dash. This may be inherent in this type of mount or due to the horizontal direction of my car vent, but the unit is worth the inconvenience because it can be mounted and removed easily and places the phone in good visual distance. We have easily removed it and taken it with us on trips for use on rental cars.

I always had doubts about these phone holders that attached to vents. They did not seem stable, but someone recommended them to me. Previously I had used ones with adhesive, but I live in SoCal where the sun scorches cars in the summer, and usually the adhesive becomes gummy and falls off. So..for a long time after my last two adhesive ones broke I didn't even use a phone holder. These, are SUPER stable, feel very well made, and I don't feel like it's going to fall off the vent, and I don't think my phone is prone to falling off. Overall I am really happy with them, and my only regret was not buying them when they were on sale at $15....still worth the money at $20 though.

There are quite a few things you should consider before buying this product for your phone. the item is built very well it has a decent amount of weight to it which you can see in the video review and it causes the venting to shift inwards, not a big deal it does have a ball pivot where i can adjust it upwards but the other thing you also have to consider is the clamps that go into the venting. if you have directional fins that allowe to change the direction of the air left to right, the clamps do not go all the way in depending on the size of your vents or the size of the directional fins. in the video you can see that not only does my vent shift inwards towards the bottom but I have to put my vent fins all the way to the left in order for the clamps to go in. Also depending how deep your vents are the clamps don't grab very much as you can see in the video it didn't take much to for me to wiggle it out of place it does require a bit of force but considering while driving you are pushing the thing around with one hand to adjust the position of your phone or when you unclamp your phone or put your phone to be clamped in. Which brings me to another part that I have some issues with not a design flaw but something they can definitely improve upon. Depending on your phone the clamps don't always fit very well with the phone, which in my case I have a Google pixel 3. The volume adjustment buttons are literally on The middle on the side of the phone so you have to slide your phone upwards at an awkward position where three-quarters of the phone is sitting about the clap well the time is just holding the bottom corner of your phone. they could have a bottom rest that could have just more like the one that they have for their upgraded version of this that adheres to the dash. Also take the case of your phone into consideration as well in my situation the case I have for my Google pixel is a denim style case. The rubber grips on the clamp system hold barely just enough to keep them from falling out the only thing that keeps it from falling out is literally the protruding buttons on the right side of the middle of the phone. Overall it does the job it worked it's not a defective product it's not a cheap product it's a very well done. Some more thought should be put into the design of this mechanism to better accommodate I better majority of the phones out there.

Premetto che uso il prodotto da meno di un mese, ma devo dire che mi sto trovando alla grande. Ho scelto il modello "a pinza" (piuttosto che quello classico) inizialmente per una questione estetica, il mio obiettivo era infatti quello di non "rovinare" il telefono con il tradizionale adesivo. Ma mi ha sorpreso la comodità del supporto, facilmente spostabile da un'auto all'altra (o anche solo per non lasciarlo in macchina, chiaramente) e soprattutto la stabilità che garantisce al telefono (non si muove neanche di poco, e lo uso con un telefono abbastanza grande e pesante, ovvero OnePlus 6t). Se si dovesse rivelare un prodotto duraturo, il rapporto qualità-prezzo sarebbe veramente ottimo.
