Nice Upgrade for a TJ, BUT!!
These are nice, bright and not an easy install for someone who is not too handy. I ordered a set of 4 pin male and female wire harness to make it easier to remove in the future. The holes needed to be drilled out a little for the bolts to fit and I also matched up the wires and had to ground it from the back using the same mounting nuts and bolts. Driver Side was easy, passenger side you gotta remove the wheel well cover and move the evap canister a bit to get your hands behind to tighten the nuts.

I think these are some of the best looking tail lights for a Jeep Wrangler YJ, BUT......
I think these are some of the best looking tail lights for a Jeep Wrangler YJ, BUT...you have to work to get them on your rig and it's no simple/quick task if you want to do it as correclty as possible!First, like other reviewers have said, you'll need to drill out the 3 holes that have captured nuts for the stock tail lights to a bigger hole size since these have studs that pass through and a nut goes on the back side to secure them.Second, you have to cut the factory light plug off of your original tail lights and graft it on to the wire pigtails of these new LED lights. This isn't hard to do, but does take time and some wiring tools/know-how to complete correctly. I have built entire car harnesses before, so this was a very simple task, but i did take the time with the vehicle and a tester light to figure out which wires from the factory Jeep light plugs did what (ex. tail/running wire, reverse light wire, brake/blinker wire). Additionally, factory Jeep light wiring does not include a ground wire from the main body harness plugs to the tail lights because halogen bulb factory light housings were grounded to the body with the screws going in to the welded in capture nuts on the Jeep tub (that you just had to first drill the threads out of to go bigger to install these new LED lights). SO, you'll need to ground these new tail lights with their provided grounding where to somewhere with a stable body ground.Third, I believed from the description that these lights had an internal control to prevent hyper-blink due to the reduced current load of the LEDs tripping the 'bulb out' feature of the Jeep, but they do not. Additionally, my model Jeep YJ - '94 - does not do a hyper-blink, it simply will not blink at all and keeps the light illuminated constantly instead. To fix this issue and make the Jeep believe that a bulb was not blown, I had to purchase additional in-line load resistors from Autozone to wire inline with the tail light blinker/brake light wire to restore the load resistance created by the factory halogen bulbs that were being replaced.Other than those 3 inconveniences and things that make this install a slower one, i love the look of the new lights on my Jeep and they are really nicely illuminated! Cool little detail to add to your rig! I also love that they are smaller/shallower than the factory lights! looks much cleaner on the back now! plus my Jeep is black, so why wouldn't these look amazing compared to big, honking red lenses back there? 😉Hope this long spiel helps someone else out! 🤙

Very bright! Work and look great !
The media could not be loaded. Pretty easy installation, had to drill the factory holes a bit bigger and upgrade my flashers on the fuse panel. Great look and function. Very bright. Perfect upgrade for my YJ !

No side lighting. Plate light is dim. Needs resistor.
Not plug and play, wiring on the Jeep side is odd for this 4-wire light. They should have just wired up the black on the light to the bolts coming out of the light. This way you only need to connect 3 wires and then make sure you bolt the light down well to get ground/negative from the car. I have included what colors I matched up with to make the lights act correctly. If you are having issues, it is most likely the ground. I needed a large contact match to get the ground to register. The license plate light is quite dim. No side-facing lights like stock. No harness to quickly connect to the factory wiring. Have to drill out factory mounting holes for the light to fit.1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara wiring guide:Left light:[Harness // Tail light][Black+Yellow // Yellow(with inline resistor if needed)][Green+Red // Red][Black+Purple // White][Ground to nut // Black]Right Light:[Harness // Tail light][Black+Yellow // Yellow(with inline resistor if needed)][Brown/BLK+Red // Red][Purple // White][Ground to nut // Black]

THESE DO NOT FIT ON A 2003 JEEP TJ
This product is not able to be installed on a 2003 TJ because the frame is in the way to install the nuts on the back, IMPOSSIBLE to get a wrench into the space. Also you have to drill out the stock threaded holes in order to install them, but there is still the issue with securing the nuts. They are also not plug and play. DO NOT BUY THESE for a 2003 TJ!

Great product
Great lights pretty bright. I installed them on my 2003 Wrangler relatively easy install. Only drawback is they should've come with resistors to fix the Hyper blink.

I have advice!
So first thing, this is a small project, not plug and play, and my particular jeep is an 04 TJ Unlimited. My pictures from left to right go from driver to passenger side. Start with the driver side, there is more room to work in the wheel well as you learn how to wire these in. Also make sure you put the tail light with the license plate light on driver side. Your going to have to drill out the 3 holes in the body with a 5/16 drill bit. Don't try and get away with a smaller bit or you will not remove the annoying burs on the other side of the sheet metal. Wire your wires together according to what I have done in the pictures. NOTE, there is no hyper flash when just the turn signal is on but if you run the running/headlights and click the turn signal you will have hyper flash so you have to wire in an led resistor in line with the running light wire like I have shown in pics. Amazon sells a pack of 4 for like 10 bucks. Now plug your pigtails in and throw your nuts on the stud with negative wire on one of them on the backside. Enjoy! Side note, I chose to use the connectors that I did because if these take a crap in a couple years it will make my future easier to swap out.

Work required
These tail lights come with studs not holes for the bolts, if your like me and don't want to drill holes into your tj 97-06 then you will have to disassemble the light housing damaging the silicone seal removing the plastic innards and electric board and then grind down the plastic to get to the bolts and hammer them out. If your planning on using the metal tail light guards these lights are not for you, they are 100% impossible to install with the lights but with some patience and about an hour and a half you too can have these very cool looking bright tail lights. ( you need to re silicone the outer shell to ensure water will not damage them)

Not for any models listed
It has a bolt on the back melted into the plastic, cannot take these off. Not compatible as a bolt cannot go into a bolt and who ever said to just cut it off is wrong as you will wreck the light and it has plastic over top of it!

Doesn't fit
Inaccurate fitment claims. Definitely didn't fit my 2012 jku without modifications
