Setup was simple plug-n-play
For starters, this suited my application perfectly considering I picked it up for an older laptop with a failing internal wifi adapter, so my standards weren't set very high. The price was perfect and came in way below the cost to replace the internal wireless chip. It connected right out of the box without the need to install drivers, and performed better than the internal adaptor ever did. The design is very sleek and low profile. I didn't bump the adaptor once while moving the laptop around during my room-to-room signal tests. Its ability to pick up a strong or weak steady signal and hold it is great, especially since the laptop was from 2012 and naturally has slower hardware. Even tried out a little light gaming in each room and it held a connection beautifully. I'll likely purchase another one for another older gaming laptop I have, also from 2012 with a slow internal adaptor. That way I won't have to switch this one back and forth between setups If you're looking for a cheap and steady way to connect older hardware to the net, this will get the job done and definitely gets a "would recommend" from me. I'll add images in a few days. First time around I wasn't able to take pictures, but I will shortly to show the level of connectivity in each room and rough distance.

Compact and Reliable WiFi Solution - Perfect for Travel and Everyday Use
I recently purchased the TP-Link Nano USB WiFi Adapter for my desktop and have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. This compact, travel-sized adapter is powerful for its size, easily delivering reliable WiFi connections both at home and on the go. Installation was straightforward with plug-and-play on my Windows system, and within minutes, I was connected. One standout feature is the dual-band capability, offering 2.4G and 5G support, which makes it versatile depending on the type of network you’re on. I noticed a significant improvement in speed when connected to 5G networks—perfect for streaming and browsing without interruption. The adapter’s AC1300 capability is also a bonus, allowing faster data rates, which makes it quite future-proof for any upgraded internet plans. For its small size, it’s remarkably unobtrusive, which I appreciate. I barely notice it plugged into the USB port, and because it's so small, it’s great for travel or for plugging into a laptop without worrying about it getting in the way. Overall, this adapter is a great value for anyone needing reliable WiFi connectivity on a PC or laptop, especially in situations where wired connections are impractical. It’s a small investment that brings a big performance boost. Highly recommended!

Garage computer now has internet
I put an older computer in my garage to look up repair information and this little wifi dongle worked perfect to get it online. Plus, it has a small memory partition built-in to it that contains the drivers. It auto played and installed once plugged in for the first time.

Great USB WiFi adapter!
Works well, I had a laptop with a bad quality WiFi card built into the MOBO, installed this WiFi usb adapter and my speed went 5x easily. Easy setup with disc or online drivers.

Works great!
My laptop has a physical hardware issue with the wifi card (a common issue for the card it came with, and therefore this line of laptops, unfortunately) and I really didn't want to open up my laptop to replace it, even though my dad has experience building PCs and probably could've done it for me. instead I bought this little thing, and all I had to do was plug it into my laptop, disable my old wifi card from the device manager, and type in my wifi password. then I was set. occasionally the adapter will disconnect from the wifi, but it's not very often and might just be because the adapter gets taken back and forth from my laptop to my siblings' computer, which is really old and has a similar hardware issue. eventually we're going to buy a second adapter so we don't have to share. One thing, though: when in the old pc, the adapter gets really hot after a few hours. I don't have any issues with the temperature in my laptop, but it does get nearly hot enough to burn in the other computer. it hasn't affected its function at all though, so it's not really a concern. Just maybe be careful if you remove the adapter from your computer.

10.14.2024 - Updated down to 2 stars because it stopped working. Lol Im so done with TP Link. Nothing more to say. Good Luck. 10.4.2024 - Updated to 5 Stars from 3 Stars due to stability and online gaming performance fidelity. - Although I'm still getting lower than advertised speeds, the adapter itself is stating its getting 867 mbps. - WiFi is holding strong and doesn't drop out, which is great - Long gaming sessions on Call of Duty MW 3 are doing very well as I used to get a lot of packet loss, but with this new adapter I very rarely see packet loss - Booting up and getting WiFi is no problem, as I've had issues with my previous WiFi card connecting to my router and requiring multiple reboots - I have come to the conclusion that I'm just getting the lower speeds because this doesn't support WiFi 6 (IPv6 protocol). This seems to support IPv4, which is fine because its stable. - This is a good fix for now, and the WiFi is strong and steady, even after very long online gaming sessions. - My previous comments about troubleshooting still stands - hopefully it helps some of you conduct research and do your own updates (if you don't know what you're doing already, see initial comments in the below cluster). - Let's see if this thing lasts more than a year. For the price point, I don't really care. However if this thing lasts for at least 2 years, then I will stand by my 5 star rating, otherwise will drop down to a 4 because I've had TP link devices in the past and they don't last more than a year for some reason (only in my experience, I can't speak to other user experiences). 10.2.2024 Review Below (Originally rated at 3 stars). To those of who you have bought TP Link items in the past, this one is nothing new. The following is a detailed account of pretty much every piece of TP Link equipment I've bought. You look at the box and it makes some crazy claim about internet speed. You plug it in and get really low speeds. You have to do a large amount of troubleshooting to get it to kind of work. It still doesn't reach the desired end goal of very fast internet speeds. It probably stops working shortly after 1 year. I did A LOT of troubleshooting and I'm only getting 270 mbps. I have other devices in the room that are getting 550 to 600 mbps with ease. This probably is because this item doesn't support ".ax" wireless mode on 5 Ghz, but that's just a guess. Troubleshooting - installed drivers from website - plugged into USB 3.0 port - forced 5 Ghz band within device manager options - modified channel on router to channel 36 at 80 MHz - restarted after doing each of these steps Now, that isn't to say that this product is bad. Just accept the fact that you're probably not going to reach the 867 mbps on 5 GHz that they advertise. I can still watch and load 4K videos on Youtube pretty fast, so that's nice. I only got this because the WiFi card on my older laptop (4 years) was finnicky, otherwise I wouldn't have bought this. Whatever. For the price point, I guess it kinda meets requirements.
