have only read a little~~so far--I like it

one thousand gifts is visually appealing; all the photographs are lovely and uplifting. i love the author's message that god is in the details, that beauty and encouragement can be found in the most ordinary and that when we focus on the positive, the negative diminishes it's power to rob of us simple pleasure and joy. the blessings, the gifts are always there; we just need to see them. the friend i sent the book to says that just looking through the pictures makes her feel better when she needs a lift. i also own the book [not the gift version and it's had a huge impact on my life].

Voskamp's FIRSTbook, ONE THOUSAND GIFTS has so much meaning. The problem I had with the the SECOND one was the repetition I found in it. I did not think it added a lot of new depth for me. I bought it as a gift, and will pass it on. I have passed on a couple copies of Voskamp's first book, but but would not buy another one of the second book. I also thought this company's shipping was a bit high, but that has nothing to do with the book.

I thought I was ordering the original book by Ann Voskamp, One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are. Somehow I managed to order this shorter book with selections from the original. Since it was to be a gift, I had to go to our local bookstore and buy the proper book. I feel that the ad I ordered from wasn't clear enough, but it could have been my mistake.

Positive mindset breeds positive outcome! I had this book but gave it to someone some time ago but decided I needed another copy to give to another friend who struggles with depression. The author has been in the same shoes and she conquered her depression, or should I say the hold Satan had on her mind, by daily looking for blessings, things to he thankful for.. thus the title "One Thousand Gifts". It's a great book and there's a few different versions of it. This one is more of a coffee table book, but there are study books.

This is a great author and have got so much out of her books and devotionals and she is awesome. a must read.

Bought this as a gift as a follow up to the original 'One Thousand Gifts'. Some beautiful excerpts from the book and some added extras as well, accompanied with such beautiful photographs, all set to inspire and provoke your thoughts and contemplation. It is great to dip in and out of for some positive encouragement. Definitely recommend this to Voskamp fans and those that have not been blessed by her work yet.

This is a good very book with beautiful pictures & a message on each page. I would recommend this book to others.
