Finally a decent tasting protein bar!
Let’s be honest, most protein bars either taste awful, have bad texture or play havoc with the digestion an hour after taking (at least that’s been my experience)I had almost given up hope finding a protein bar that was palatable - I really like these. Having previously tried chocolate cookie diet whey bars I liked the taste but hated the texture, these are more interesting with soft fudge consistency and a crunchy layer on top. Taste is quite sweet but not so much as to be sickly.Don’t seem to cause any GI upset and feels about as close as possible to the feeling of “cheating” when I crave chocolate (which is quite often).Low sugar and low Cals per bar.I got these for equivalent of £1.25 per bar which isn’t bad compared to other bars.

Recipe has changed
I have bought 2 batches of these bars in chocolate peanut butter flavour which is the best flavour in my opinion. The first batch I bought definitely tasted better than my second batch so the recipe has definitely changed … tasted more chemically/ artificial but I don’t mind it too much, other than that good value for money and they have rather good macros.

Good value, bad taste
The protein component itself tastes alright, but what are they thinking making a chocolate brownie bar taste so bitter? I've had good tasting bars from other brands so expected this one to be similar, but it's just so dark and bitter it's not like having a chocolate brownie at all, it's a chore to get through it. The type of chocolate your gran might like.Edit: no longer good value. I just came here to buy some more, and to try a different flavour, but the price has gone from a reasonable £13 per box to a whopping £22 per box practically overnight. Oh well, no thanks.

New bars are so much worse then the old ones
Any update should be an improvement (just ask Snapchat). This update for me totally ruins this product. I have been eating one or two bars a day for the last 6 years and I loved them. The new bars suck for many reasons; more calories, less protein, they all taste the same (I have tried all four) and it is not a good taste, and the censensus with my friends is that the new bar causes stomach issues. I get that the bar looks more commercially appealing and interesting, but surely it's all about product quality and taste? Apparently not. I contacted the Customer Services at PhD and I got a short and very dismissive reply telling me that their market research is all that matters. It's sad, but I will now find a better protein bar. Of course losing my custom will not effect PhD's bottom line, but I am sure that i cannot be the only long-term customer with these issues.

Tastey and value for money
I was slightly worried when I first purchased these bars largely because of their cheap price (£12 or so) but went ahead given the positive reviews. No regrets, great taste, value for money and filling. Highly recommend. To add... be aware the price of these bars does massively fluctuate so choose your purchase time wisely.

Macro Counting
Certainly not the best tasting bars out there, but if your counting your macros these will fit in tremendously

Fill me up but box was 3 months past its "best before" date
I've marked this product down because I received the box in May 2023 and it was dated "Best Before Feb 2023". To be fair, I ate the bars and they seemed fine to me but should not have been sent out like this.I like the chocolate covering although it does tend to flake off so I always dropped bits while I was eating. There is an attempt as texture with a crunchy rice type of ingredient - it wasn't crunchy enough for me though so I wanted more texture. You have to chew quite hard when eating these bars and I think that helps towards the full sensation you have after eating a bar.The flavour is Salted Caramel - the caramel taste is identifiable but there is no taste of the salt at all.The bars are a good price and fill me up when I eat just one but are not my favourite bar at all.
