Vessel Ball Grip JIS Screwdriver – A Must-Have for Japanese Bike Work
Vessel, or Bessel is a Japanese brand. As a professional mechanic with a workshop full of top-tier tools — think Snap-on, Facom, Teng, Hazet — I don’t mess around when it comes to quality gear. So when I picked up the Vessel Ball Grip screwdriver, I wasn’t expecting it to punch quite as high as it does. Let’s get straight to the point: this is a proper JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screwdriver, and that matters — especially if you’re working on Japanese motorcycles. Anyone who's wrestled with tight carb bowl screws knows the pain of using a Phillips or PZ driver, only to strip the head because those standards don’t fit JIS screws properly. Vessel’s driver slots in perfectly, bites hard, and gets the job done without chewing anything up. The build quality is outstanding. The metal feels harder than your average Snap-on driver, which is saying something. I don’t know if that means it might be brittle over time, but so far I’ve seen no wear, no rounding, and no signs of fatigue — even under heavy workshop use. The ball grip handle is another highlight — comfortable, grippy, and surprisingly ergonomic. It gives you excellent torque without wrecking your hands, even if you’re wrenching all day. For fiddly carb screws or delicate electrical bits, it’s ideal. Honestly, Vessel might not have the brand clout of the big European and American names, but in terms of function, quality, and value, this screwdriver easily holds its own. I’d say it’s a viable alternative for professionals, especially if you're regularly working on Japanese bikes or machinery. Highly recommended. Even in a toolbox full of premium tools, this one earns its spot. I may well buy more tools from Vessel in the future.

Great value
Nice selection of bit sizes and the usual Vessel high quality. There's only one minor issue in that one of the bits does not have a recess at the ends to click into a normal bit holder. It is a loose fit in a standard bit holder but works just fine in the supplied handle. I thought it was very good value for money.

A great screwdriver
A very comfortable screwdriver. For use in the UK additional pozi and flathead screwdriver heads would be good rather than the US oriented philips heads which I almost never see. But overall this is an amazingly good screwdriver at a very cheap price. Definitely worth five stars

Wanted Jis bits, a little disappointed..
I've always wanted Jis bit drivers, thought I'd spend a little money on some. Expecting high quality from Japan. The reality is (unless I bought fakes) is that they are not the quality I would normally expect from Japan. They were Vessel. Update: Used this (these; bits) and although they did indeed fit very well when servicing an 80's amplifier (much better than a PH driver) i was a little disappointed with the quality. The interchangeable bits suffered from 'float' (wobble) and i found i had to wind some insulating tape around them to stop that from happening. I am, i have to say a little surprised at this as most (if not all) of my Japanese tools are of excellent quality. Maybe i got a bad one..
