The DCD791 is not a hammer drill.

Q: Are these metal gears an what size battery comes with this kit is it the 5.o

The gears are metal. The batteries included are 2.0 amp hour

Q: Mine wasn't bubble wrapped? Are they usually bubble wrapped inside the bag to prevent scratches on other tools since they’re all squeezed in the bag?

The three kits I had the tools wrapped in plastic bags. I don't think there is enough room in the bag for bubble wrapped tools.

Q: The dck684d2 combo kit, are the batteries safe for traveling on air planes

as long as you are not charging them on the plane.
