Question to Seller: I purchased the 24V to 12V 20A 240W version of this converter. After install there is about a 4 second delay before full current flow is established. Is this a defect? For example, if I connect a pilot light or multimeter to the output side it immediately shows 12v. However when I connect any sort of load (small 12VDC motor for a kids power wheels) there is a delay of about 4 seconds before the motor starts to turn. I purchased the 40A 480W version of this converter in the past and it does not have the same problem; it seems to provide full current immediately.

I installed this in my 48V golf cart to run the stereo and rock lights. I also installed a 20 amp switch to the ground side so I could turn the regulator on and off. Well the switch took about 5 cycles before it arc welded the contacts. Tried another switch and same thing. So I up graded to a 35 amp switch and it seems fine now. This thing draws a lot of power when first powered up. But battery draw seems low afterwards, I didn't check current draw to verify. I also have an issue with using the bluetooth on the stereo due to interference from the regulator. They are mounted within a foot of each other so that may be causing the issue.

This 24v to 12v step down converter works great. I decided to wire it to power tool battery hook ups and also to a 300 watt 12v inverter to 120v outlet So I can plug a 32 inch TV and DVD player to play movies while camping. It does exactly that.Great product. It's also clean current so the electronics aren't exposed to burn.I can also connect my Xbox and play video games on the TV.
