This was a great book for me to read
This was a great book for me to read. Hell it might even change your life. Yes there is lots of information on the internet, but the point is a lot is bad. This book allows you to start to differentiate. It also opens your eyes to the vested interests out there who are unwittingly ripping many many people off.I like the style, with short chapter it was difficult to put down (which is unusual in this topic area). I also like the fact that it was practical in that it explained to beginners exactly how to set things up.It definitely spurred me into action. It is perhaps quite dear, but definitely worth it.

Essential reading - will transform your investment and pension strategies
This Book is superb............my only wish is that it had been available and I read whilst in my 30's apposed to 50's, the amount of money I have wasted and been conned out of, yes I use "conned out of" by so called Financial Advisers wants to make me cry.I bought both of Andrew's books last Christmas, I needed to research the investment industry and finalise an investment strategy that would benefit me rather than the banks and FA's, I had already made investments in mutual funds with a small number of banks, intent was to get my money to work, but work for me and not the banks, typical charges for investing in funds being 3% upfront fee and a 2% yearly management fee, all these fees to manage my money to make a loss, really, in any other industry incompetence and poor peformance by a so called adviser or consultant would result in immediate firing or legal prosecution. Reading the books was a revelation for me, I was kind of putting off reading the books as I thought it would be hard to focus on financial matters, but I couldn't be more wrong, once I started I could not put either book down, I have also lent them to my work collegues who comment the same. I had the pleasure to meet Andrew recently in Dubai where he held a talk/workshop, he is great down to earth guy and completely genuine, this reflects in how he writes his books which are a joy to read. The books contain great advise for a complete novice and upwards, and also how to avoid the pitfalls of the ever aggressive conmen looking for fat commissionins....including the well known high street banks. Please read Andrew's books they are gamechangers !!!!I can only assume that negative comments have been written by the greedy financial advisers that these two great books advise to give a wide bearth to. Andrew...thank you very much.

Required Reading for Expat Investors
I would have this book as required reading by the UK government for everyone going overseas to work. It's wonderful to have the opportunity to work abroad with the potential for improved salaries and reduced taxation, but when you get the money what are you supposed to do with it? First off, buy and read this book. Then get all your new-found friends to read it. It'll clearly explain why you shouldn't invest with the sharks on your compound trying to sell you extortionate and inflexible plans. It will give you confidence that the strategies outlined later in the book are the way forward with many and varied quotes from highly respected investors and academics, along with plenty of data to back up their thoughts. Finally, it will suggest almost to the letter what you should buy and with whom depending on your nationality and country of employment.A caveat, I have just finished the book and have yet to apply any of the advice I have garnered. However, it has given me the confidence to strike out on my own in the knowledge that I will not be paying inflated fees to financial firms who are more than likely going to underperform the market.

Good book for beginners
Good book for beginners, to get the basic knowledge about the fact that mutual funds and actively managed funds under-perform the index.I already knew that fact so it was a bit boring for me at the beginning, but I enjoyed the second part of the book, which explains in detail in what funds you need to invest.

Must read for and private investor.
A must read for every expat and anyone deciding how to invest their hard earned cash. A lot of lessons learnt reading this book, most of all stay away from those investment "advisors".

Just buy it now - people need this
This book is exactly what you need to invest for the long term. It's extremely practical, so by the end of it you should know pretty much exactly what to do. Perhaps more importantly, it shows you some of the traps to avoid in the less regulated markets that expats tend to work in. I would recommend it to any expat and I probably will.
