I purchased this for my old BR 864 to get more recording time. So far it seems to work. I thought it would worth posting this as it took some time to find one that was the right specification. While this worked in my unit this is not a guarantee it will work in all old porta studios. Hope this gives you a good starting point for looking for a replacement.
