Excellent tone, and powerful enough without a pre-amp. I installed it in a mandolin with a magnetic pickup already fitted, and it's as loud as that at full volume. Of course you may still need a way of adjusting volume and tone for live performance. Comes with everything you need to install it on a classical guitar (which it is designed for), with a QR code to link to PDF instructions online. I had a struggle to get it into my mandolin, but I managed it. The process would have been a little easier with the 3-element version (EP001K) of course, but the price is the same so why not have the 4th contact?

I have been isto guitars since mid 80's tried a lot of stuff.Last summer while on vacation bought used Alhambra 2C and love the sound so thought to upgrade it with a simple pickup. This one is just perfect for what it is. It's very neutral sounding but with of lot of details. Love the sound. Highly recomend. Much better than simple under saddle piezzos this one give you more volume and character. Already installed one so this one went easy. Placed the discs not totaly under the saddle position but slightly in the bridge . The sound is ouncy but also a mellow and well balanced.Great job Journey amplification!

Installed on my 12 string. It sounds absolutely amazing. Low, mid, high tones are all perfectly balanced. No hum, no feedback. When cranking the amp, it sounds just as clear. Incredible product. Buy it.

Sounds Great, I used the 4 piezo passive and tested it through a Fender twin reverb, very smooth sound by placing 1 just on the out side hole of the treble, 1 on the outside hole for the bass e string and 1 in between / directly behind the 2nd and 3rd and one directly behind the 4th and 5th strings as they come through the saddle, making sure not to block a string hole I put all 6 pegs in the saddle so I could feel them. You have to use medium thick CA glue (super glue) or the like on the metal side of the piezo and hold them in place for about 1 minute to hold where you place them and I placed them about 1/8 inch from the pegs in the saddle. The pegs are what hold the strings in the saddle that are pushed inside the guitar.

These piezo’s are amazing! They look and feel very high quality and they sound just as good as the k&k’s at a much cheaper price. If I had to think of something to add it would be the way you need to super glue them to the bridge plate. It would be alot better and easier if they had the 3M double sided adhesive on them so it can be removed if needed. With super glue there is no way you are removing them if one breaks or stops working. That would be my only complaint and feedback on these hence why I didn’t give 5 stars. Other than that they really make a good resonant guitar sound spectacular. Not flat at all and has amazing response but I installed them in my cordoba so I’m not surprised. It had amazing resonance as it so once the piezo’s were installed it really came to life! Remember a piezo captures the guitars natural resonance and amplifies it while an under saddle pickup only picks up the strings vibration and amplifies it. I prefer piezo’s on classical guitars and under saddle pickups for steel string guitars. Will 100% buy again when I need to add electric’s into another classical guitar!
