The Hitman's Bodyguard [Blu-ray + DVD]

I’ve got both movies in the series now, but the first one is still my favorite. The chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson is just perfect, action, comedy, and chaos all rolled into one. It’s one of those movies I can throw on anytime and still enjoy it like the first watch. Fun plot, great pacing, and a ton of rewatch value. Definitely one I’m glad to have in my collection.

Funny comedic movie with great actors very enjoyable

Funny, and lots of action. Not a waste of time, or money. Yes it is corny, and totally impossible, but this film delivers on several levels. The car chases are great - especially along the canals in Amsterdam, and there are some laugh out loud moments. Yes it is full of swear words, but no nudity. The swearing seems like it would be normal for these two characters - a hit-man, and a cranky bodyguard. I don't understand why people are so bothered by swearing in films like this.

I have never chuckled so much watching this film with Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. Good team work film partnership.

It's the incredible but violent action scenes that save THE HITMAN'S BODYGUARD. The story is seriously predictable and there are few surprises here. Things move along just as expected. Even a great actor like Samuel L. Jackson can save this film though he does a great job. Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) is a professional bodyguard on rough times. Darius Kincaid is a notorious hitman locked up for life. Kincaid is offered a deal to release his wife Sonia (Salma Hayek) from prison if he agrees to testify against a war criminal Vladislav Dukhovich (Gary Oldman) in a war crimes tribunal. Of course, the problems begin immediately. Kincaid is the only person in the world whose testimony will convict Dukhovich. Otherwise, Dukhovich goes free. It's a race against time as Bryce must get Kincaid to the Netherlands from England. The body count along the way is enormous, yet they barely get a scratch. Yes, the chase and fight scenes are incredible but it's the story here that is lacking. It's a predictable story as Bryce and Kincaid bond. Kincaid is not really that evil of a hitman since he only kills bad guys. Have we seen this all before? It seems like so much money is spent on visual effects--fight scenes and car chases - that nothing is left for the writers to create a more believable story

Very exciting and funny in places 😄

If you want a humourous action, "buddy" movie where the two main characters hate each other, you've found it. Yes, the action is completely over the top and unbelievable, but it is suprisingly well done. The movie's rating is mainly for Samuel L Jacksons language (but there is some strong violence too) - if you can't handle regular repetition of the term that Samuel L Jackson is known for, then this isn't for you. Suprise cameo is Salma Hayek's tough character, which ties together the movie, and makes Samel L Jacksons hitman more human.
