The Steampunk Tarot

I have to say, I’m barely ever lacking words but this piece of art left me speechless. I’ve never really been into tarot or steampunk. I started playing with tarot recently, purely because I’m a huge Ciro Marchetti fan and I wanted to own one of his decks. Then I discovered the whole tarot world, however I struggled finding another deck that would catch my eye. I didn’t want traditional pictures, or angels, or vampires, or fairies, or goth-I’m-so-gloomy variations. Steampunk tarot stood out in the flood of apps so I bought the app and I was blown away by the pictures and some alternative card meanings that suited better my first instincts. (For instance I struggled a lot with seven of swords, and I finally found out why!) Since it was honestly the only deck, aside from Marchetti’s, that spoke to me, I ordered the “real” one. And I was simply speechless when I unpacked it. The box is already beautiful, with magnetic closure. Then you see the book and a black string. When you pull it, the book goes up and you see the cards, packed neatly in the carved space. And even though the space is conveniently designed to pull the cards out, still you can pull the string once again to pop them out! ♥️ I mean, the whole thing is so thoughtfully done, with such attention to details, that it’s worth any price. And at last, but certainly not least, I found this amazing farewell at the end of the book... I think I might’ve shed a few tears at this point 😉 It is a piece of art and I can’t find words to express how it feels to find such a gem!

Great deck to work with, solid cardstock and very accurate when doing readings. The cards are smooth to shuffle, well designed with crisp clear imagery and comes in a large box with a well laid out informative guidebook. An all round quality and valued deck.

This beautiful deck of Tarot cards comes in a beautiful box but guess what. Amazon doesn’t put it in a cardboard box to send it. No, they send it as is with a great big sticker on the outside. It’s an expensive item and just because it’s boxed does not mean it does not need any packaging. I’m sick of all this ‘green’ ‘no packaging’ agenda. PLEASE SEND THIS PROPERLY PROTECTIVELY PACKAGED. Well.....! On first opening I thought that I didn’t find the cards as attractive as I’d hoped I would. They immediately drew me in and within a short time I absolutely loved them. I have collected cards for ages and people say certain decks just ‘speak’ to them. Although I love the artwork on all of my decks, so far I haven’t really found one that I can connect with for readings. I drew 9 cards and got a king and queen side by side. Now normally the accompanying books’ meanings don’t resonate much with me either, but this one, my God it was like it was written for me, I sat there with a dropped jaw. Being a fire sign I always thought I was a queen of wands type, her attributes normally fit with me. At the moment I’m with someone lovely who’s loyal and dependable but quite routine and stuck in his ways, while I have been craving to move forward in all areas of my life and becoming restless with stagnation ( also got hanged man- suspension!) The book used the exact term ‘moving forward’ for her. Also drew 4 coins which to me suggests stable but maybe lacking excitement....long review but I regretted buying this deck at first but now I’m so glad I did! The book and box are lovely and each time I look I see or interpret something unseen previously in the cards.

These cards when I received them were not quite as attractive as I'd expected they might be from the few samples online that I'd seen, but they're certainly very different from any other deck I possess - and that's not necessarily a negative point! This is an interesting deck - not least because of the artwork, but also there is included a very thick and substantial book that goes into great depth about the deck and also the relevant card meanings. I think the interpretations of the cards (according to the book) you will find very different from those of traditional tarot indeed! Again; that's not necessarily a bad thing, but when I did myself a reading using the Celtic cross spread, I used the book supplied for the immediate interpretations first - then I referred to a traditional tarot book, and of course there was quite a marked difference, though some similarities were retained. I'm giving this deck a high rating of four stars, as though I was a little disappointed with the imagery, they do deserve a good rate for the book alone which is far more substantial and in-depth than you generally get with your average tarot deck.

The size of the cards is perfect, and something all other designs should follow. The pictures are slightly dark, but beautiful. Steampunk by nature is dark and mysterious,. The book is easy to understand. It has a "vibe", it chats to you, like a friend. It's perfect.

This is a beautiful deck,with striking imagery that captures and expresses the ideas behind each card very well. Aly Fell's artwork takes us into a gorgeous steampunk world and Barbara Moore's companion book is helpful and informative, a good introduction for a novice without being at all prescriptive. Really love this deck and find it a pleasure to use.

You will first notice the artwork and the quality of the good sized box. The attention to detail on each card is breathtaking. The glimpse of the future through a lens to the past makes me feel very connected to these cards. The substantial guide book contains pictures of all of the cards, and as you read about each one it pulls you in to really look at the details of each incredible artwork that some how your eyes have missed. The cards are of very good quality and shuffle really well. The readings they give are spot on! A fab buy for a fab price. Have a look yourself on YouTube at the flip through of these tarot cards. I have been eyeing up these cards for some time; not sure if they were really my style. However, I took the plunge and ordered them and I received them this weekend. They are absolutely beautiful. I love this set. The box is good quality and the book has some really good interpretations/meanings for the cards. I definitely recommend these tarot cards.

Simplemente me encantó. Desde que lo tuve en mis manos me fascinó, es un trabajo en el que se cuida hasta el último detalle, está hecho con amor y dedicación artística. Las imágenes de cada una de las cartas nos introducen en un mundo mágico donde cualquier fantasía puede conectar con nuestra vida y volverse realidad, en un entorno que existe más allá de los límites del tiempo y el espacio. Podrían generarse infinitas historias en las que todo es posible, historias donde prevalece el optimismo porque siempre se busca una solución creativa ante circunstancias que parecen salirse de nuestro control. No le encuentro defectos por ningún lado, y aunque tengo mis favoritas, ¡todas las cartas me fascinan! Sentí una gran conexión con este oráculo desde la primera vez que lo vi, y hoy, gracias a Amazon, es parte de mi. El libro es muy ilustrativo y a medida que voy leyendo me genera querer saber más y más sobre este fascinante mundo del tarot y del steampunk, conocer a fondo la personalidad de cada carta y su relación con las demás, su significado. Totalmente satisfecho, sin duda es el producto que más me gustó de los cinco que compré en esta primera ocasión con Amazon. ¡Felicidades a los autores! ¡Excelente trabajo!

Una version muy buena del tarot de rider. El carton es suave y de buena calidad. Las ilustraciones de la epoca victoriana, industrial, de un color ocre y muy bonitas. Estan pintadas a mano y muy bien digitalizadas Simplemente bonitas y bien trabajadas. Lo recomiendo. A mi me dicen mucho volvere a comprar otra unidad pronto. Gracias. Un saludo

Das Set kommt mit einem sehr ausführlichen Buch daher und ist für Anfänger geeignet, da es eine recht ausführliche Einführung ins Tarot gibt: Wie ist ein Tarot-Deck aufgebaut und warum? Wie und wozu kann man die Karten nutzen? Wie „lernt“ man die Karten zu lesen? Wie lernt man die Bedeutungen? usw. Danach folgen die Kartenbedeutungen, die auch recht ausführlich gehalten sind. Zum Schluss werden dann noch ein paar Legesysteme vorgestellt, die für Anfänger auch bewältigbar sind. Alles in allem 294 Seiten. Der Text stammt von Barbara Moore, die sich seit über 20 Jahren mit dem Tarot auseinandersetzt. Ich finde die Beschreibungen jedenfalls sehr passend und ausreichend für den Anfang bzw. Anfänger. Die Karten gefallen oder gefallen nicht, jedenfalls sind sie klar erkennbar an’s Rider Waite angelehnt. Wenn man schon viele Decks besitzt, dann fängt man irgendwann an, nach der besonderen, neuen Darstellung zu suchen, einer Darstellung, die ein neues Licht auf die Karte wirft. Ich finde, dies ist dem Deck über weite Strecken sehr gelungen. Qualität: Das Buch ist gebunden und geleimt und wird sicher nicht so schnell aus dem Leim gehen. Die Kartenqualität ist ok. Es gibt dünnere Decks. Der Rand ist schwarz, was er nach einiger Zeit sicher nicht mehr sein wird, aber das ist bei fast allen schwarz umrandeten Decks so. Qualität des Sets insgesamt 4,5 - also gut;-)
