My laptop kept disconnecting from WIFI, so was looking for an alternative WIFI adapter. Driver installation was very straight forward as the WIFI antenna doubles up as an USB stick with the driver software, so you don't have to have network connection to install. Am very happy with the purchase, didn't face any issues or problems since.

Der BrosTrend AX1800 High Gain WiFi 6 Stick ist grundsätzlich ein richtig starkes Teil: gute Reichweite, stabile Verbindung und spürbar bessere Performance als viele kleine USB-WLAN-Dongles. Für einen PC ohne interne WLAN-Karte ist das ein sehr solides Upgrade. Bei mir gab es allerdings ein typisches USB-Thema: An den normalen USB-Ports vom PC hatte ich gelegentlich Probleme (Instabilität/kurze Aussetzer). Ich vermute, dass der Stick relativ stromhungrig ist und manche Ports das nicht konstant sauber liefern – vor allem, wenn mehrere Geräte dran hängen oder es Front-Ports sind. Lösung: aktiver USB-Hub. Seitdem läuft es ohne ein einziges Problem. Dafür ein Stern Abzug, weil man im Zweifel Zusatzhardware braucht. Der größte Pluspunkt für mich: Der Stick kann auch Enterprise-Netzwerke empfangen bzw. damit arbeiten (je nach Setup z. B. 802.1X). Das ist nicht selbstverständlich bei günstigen Sticks und macht ihn für Uni/Arbeit/„professionellere“ WLANs deutlich interessanter.

I picked up this rosTrend USB WiFi 6 adapter because the built-in Wi-Fi on my motherboard is pretty weak. It supports both 5GHz and 2.4GHz, but the speeds on my internal card have always been underwhelming. I wanted something faster and with better range, and this ended up being a noticeable upgrade. Setup on Windows 11 was easy. When I plugged it in, it automatically opened the folder with the driver installer. After installing the driver and restarting my PC, it was up and running. One thing I would recommend: if you’re planning to use this as your main wireless connection and your PC already has built-in Wi-Fi, disable the old internal adapter first so you don’t have conflicts. The driver is supported by windows 10 and 11 I confirmed that after restart. Performance has been very good for me. I’m using this in a basement with thick concrete walls, and I was still able to get around 248 Mbps. On my internal Wi-Fi card, I was getting closer to 123 Mbps in the same location, so this was a pretty major jump. My Ethernet connection tops out around 330 Mbps, so this adapter gets surprisingly close for a wireless solution. The Bluetooth side also worked fine, and overall stability has been good. Streaming video and regular browsing have been seamless. I haven’t tested it for gaming or live streaming yet, but for normal internet use it’s been solid. My ping stayed about the same, but the faster download/upload speeds were definitely noticeable. Build quality feels good too. The adapter doesn’t feel cheap, and it only gets a little warm in use, not dangerously hot. It has venting on the bottom to help with heat, and the external antennas help a lot with range compared to the tiny nano-style adapters. That’s probably one of the biggest reasons it performs so much better in my setup. One thing some people might complain about is that it doesn’t use USB-C. Personally, that didn’t bother me much. It uses the older Micro-B style USB 3.0 connector, which you often saw on older external hard drives. USB-C would have been nicer for standardization, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Important note: this is a Windows-only device. It’s intended for Windows 10 and Windows 11, so I wouldn’t pick this up expecting Linux or Raspberry Pi compatibility. Overall, this is a very solid USB Wi-Fi adapter if your built-in Wi-Fi is weak and you want a simple way to improve speed and range on a Windows PC. In my case, it was a noticeable upgrade right away.
