My wife and I bought this to make a custom rolling pin for our friends' wedding. I also used this to make the lines on a crokinole board I have been building. In searching for a wood burning kit, I was looking for something not too expensive (hoping it would survive at least these two projects), had a variety of tips, and decent reviews. The temperature control seemed like a nice feature as well.Pros:- It has everything I was looking for in an introductory kit.- The heat shielding works well.- It seems to heat up quickly (although I have nothing to compare it to other than soldering irons, which seem like very similar concepts).- The plastic case is sturdy enough and works well.Cons:- As others have pointed out, the temperature control is in an awkward spot. I've taken to draping the cord over my shoulder, which keeps the temp control out of the way for the most part.- Some of the tips get a little soft at high temperatures (not sure if this common).My advice:- Take care when screwing in /unscrewing the tips. Letting the tool cool before changing tips is a good idea as well. Hot tips are probably much more likely to break.- Clean tips transfer heat much better. I use very light pressure on fine sandpaper to clean off corrosion.To sum it up, I think this kit has been a good introduction to wood burning. I finished the projects I bought it for, I had fun, and I'm sure I'll use it again.

I am new to wood burning, but I enjoy using this. It is easy to hold and I like the feel of it. I wish the temperature control wasn't so easy to knock and turn down (maybe have some bite points along the dial so it can stay in place) but it works very well and I have used it on a lot of projects. I bought more points once I found out which I liked, but overall it is a great starter kit.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, and he absolutely loves it! It's very convenient to just pick up and use since it heats up in no time, and there's a quick and easy guide for the temperature control depending on the materials used. The variety of tips is nice, and they all work well on the materials listed. Overall it was a great gift and extremely tile!

I like the way it works, it gets very hot. But you have to be careful that the temperature gauge doesn't move as my arm would lay on it and it would move the gauge. I love the fact that you can control the temperature as many did not have the flexibility.

Second one I ordered first one was a gift but, after tinkering with there's I had to have one too Definitely play around with it b4 using on a permanent project get ageel for it and there is so many options which I love and different designs overwhelming in a good way. Definitely been having some fun with this. Can paut your own personal touch on stuff weather it be for yourself or a gift. Note: all woods are different so do a test first

No issues. Blade heats up to high temp, so children should use it ONLY with close adult supervision. NOT a kid toy!. Temp control / on-off works OK. Lots of accessories, most of which I'll never use. A good value for an item you'll use only once in a while.

I keep honey bees and I like to build all of my own wooden beehives. I purchased this wood burning kit to burn the name of my apiary, along with the year built, inside all of my wooden equipment. This tool worked great! I was thrilled with the temperature setting- I could crank it up for the wood that was thicker and had heavy wood grain so it would leave a bold, dark letter. Then I turned the temp down on some of the lighter wood, thinner pieces so the tool didn’t burn such a deep groove. The tool did its job quickly and easily. The kit comes with an assortment of tips to use and was compatible with some number tips that I had found- so I just had to screw the numbers into the tip, let it get hot, and then “brand” the wood with the tool. It made burning 2020 inside my equipment go fast and it was a heck of a lot neater than it would have been if I had free handed it!I can’t wait to try the kit out on some craft projects!

I just received these, and although they are not enhanced with the zeolite specs, they are definitely real charcoal filters. When I shook one to see if the charcoal particles would show themselves, sure enough plenty of charcoal came off. So that's the most important part. Those who own the machine that these filters fit, will know that genuine Honeywell filters are thin enough that you can see plenty of light through them when you hold them to a light source. These are much more dense. At least twice as dense as original brand. They also come as the originals do. Long enough for the taller machine, and can be cut exactly in half for the shorter Honeywell machine. So 4 filters for the price of two, as the originals. They are so much dencer than the originals, that you can hear the machine working a bit harder, but not overworked. The filters that came with the machine were the rhinestone, flimsiest, filters I have ever had for any of my 3 air purifiers/filters. The machine itself is a gem!
