Must View in Dark Area
Detects leaks in system that use oil or similar. Widely used in HVAC industry. Helped me find a transmission fluid leak in a Kubota which I fixed with a worm-drive clamp. You'll also need a UV light source. The glow is hard to see outdoors on a bright day, but quite visible at night.

Wipe your engine first
This stuff works and is a good price and the directions are very straightforward and easy to understand. BUT if you live in a pollen-ridden state, definitley wipe down your engine somehow to dust all that off. Turns out pollen glows under UV as well. It works with any car and my battery was fine (not sure why people were scared about that) My only wish is that it glowed more, it was hard to discern if not in PITCH black what was the oil vs what was just a random white fleck of something. Overall pretty good though.

Great Oil Dye for Leak Detection!!
Needed the oil dye to find the small leaks on my old motorcycle. Added the dye, rode around for a while and then used the UV Black Light kit, sold separately, to find where the oil was seeping through. Easy gasket changes could be made to fix the small leaks, and luckily, no major items were discovered. Great value for the money to help keep the bike on the road!!

Use the Florecent Dye to Find the Leak
This A/C Pro florescent dye will help you find the leak! It worked for us when tracking down the power steering leak in the Nissan Quest. Because it saves you a ton of time, it's a great value.

Not good in detecting leaks
I used this UV in my two vehicles, none of them showed any significant signs of leak via UV light. I used a very strong UV light designed for oil leak detections. However, nothing is showed clearly with this dye. Installation is easy though with just put this dye directly into engine oil fill spot and driving around, so the dyes can go into leak areas.

Used it for thr first time yesterday and discovered the source of my oil leak quickly . You will need a black light but they are cheap. Recommended .

Life changing! Was able to identify a “rear main leak” as being just the corner of the oil pan. Works best when it is dark out. I only used half of the bottle.

Works great pinpointed oil leak! Have had a slow oil leak on our 2002 Grand Am for the past 4 years. Nothing serious just an annoying constant oil leak In our driveway. Was leaking about 1 quart between each oil change. At first was convinced it was the pan so changed the oil pan gasket. This did not solve the leak nor did a stop leak product. So purchased this DYE put it in and went for about a 50KM drive. Brought it home, jacked it up and had a look in the dark using a black-light flashlight. Lots of oil around the pan is why I originally thought that was the leak source. Using the black light, the DYE outlined that the leak was coming from a much higher spot and flowng down on to the pan giving the illusion that the oil pan was at fault when in fact it was not. Got my answer and found the leak source
