Does exactly what it should
Works very well, no more lost caps, or one dangling around on the strap. Fits great on the D-Lux8.

Great idea, very poor implementation.........
Poor quality with sharp plastic edges that will scratch the lens barrel of your expensive camera. I chucked mine in the bin and bought the real thing....avoid......

Great value alternative to the original - works perfectly.
I actually bought this to adapt to fit a different camera after seeing a post online. As an alternative to the original Panasonic / Leica version, this is a bargain. It works perfectly. With a bit of shaving down of the fixing mounts, mine now fits on a Leica L-Lux 5 and works perfectly. If you can live with out the original branding, this will save you a considerable amount of money.

Great value and works well.
This is a real bargain - just a fraction of the price of the original manufacturer's version and works perfectly. There is even room for an ultra slim UV filter underneath (I use NiSi) 43mm).

fantastic - just like OEM
I have fitted this to my new Leica D Lux 8 (with a 43mm filter already in place) - you would have to take off the filter and grasp the camera tightly to remove the lens outer ring - then refit the filter and this clicks in place on a third turn - just like the Leica but one fifth of the price!! Have used it about ten times now - just opening and closing the cap -its seem a bit silly to start with but if you are anything like me who always looses lens covers - this is an absolute must. Even if it breaks, I can buy four more replacements and still be cheaper than the Leica OEM piece - absolutley love it!

Cap fit well onto Leica d-lux 8, and is tight enough. Biggest problem was first removing front ring from camera, which is necessary for d-lux 8: Filter removal wrench did not work. However, jar lid remover provided better leverage and got front ring to move and come off. I keep both tools on hand for those once a year problems with difficult to unscrew camera filters. Problem is fault of Leica, which supplied a metal auto cap with their previous model, the d-lux 7 but substituted a front metal ring and regular plastic cap on new d-lux 8. Had to search Internet for front ring removal solution, as JJC video skipped that step and proved useless. Nonetheless, recommend JJC cap, as same front ring removal problem on d-lux 8 will confront you even if you buy the hard-to-find $90 Leica brand plastic cap. Note: Leica d-lux 7 metal auto cap is interchangeable with JJC cap.
