I bought these cards to turn writing a book series into a game. I've decorated the backs of the cards to indicate which category of story elements the card represents (hero, villain, setting, big challenge, turning point, etc.). On the flip side of each, I've jotted the actual element (hero = shy teacher, or hero = accident-prone chef, etc.), and so on. When these cards arrived, I was concerned that their shiny surfaces might not work well with the pens I'm writing/decorating them with. However, these cards are very well made, and my pens (including felt-tipped) seem to work fine on them. No smudges after the ink dries. The card size is great, and the proportions are excellent - an excellent design - making the cards easy to store, easy to handle, and fun to use. For the price, I wasn't expecting much, but - wow - these are actually very good cards and a quality above what I'd expected. I'm likely to order more for future book series that I'm writing. Value, fun, and the ability to be creative with designs...? Oh my, yes. Recommended!

These were perfect. I used sharpie ultra fine markers, they don’t bleed through and they don’t smudge on the glossy finish. These cards may be a little too smooth and stiff for some purposes, but they work great as accessories for a board game. In the picture: left are the playing cards, right is cardstock

Easy to write on and very durable. I love the way I can shuffle the cards in my hand and they fit perfectly. Would definitely recommend 10 out of 10!

As a teacher, I find these blank cards a great tool to develop activities for learning. The use is endless and being blank, they allow for multiple use and creative activities. Definitely worth the purchase, they are good thickness, easy to shuffle, affordable.

Artists beware: these are a slick surface blank cards, so pens and paint don't hold well. Not what I was looking for, but I think these will work for collage cards.
