Very great thick tactical knife!
This is my introduction to Benchmade. This is my first knife but after receiving my knife today definitely not my last. I am making this my EDC. I am into more tactical bigger knives and this hits the mark for sure. Not too big of a knife and I am not exactly the biggest guy so this should fit most well. The quality is superb. I was a little unsure about having a metal handle as I thought the grip would suffer. but it doesn't. The coating on the handle is great. I love the style of the blade a lot and hope Benchmade keeps going in the tactical direction. I'm not military but if you are this would be the most ideal out as it is very combat-ready yet still screams heavy use. I was a little iffy about getting this knife after hearing from so many that it was too heavy for EDC. THEY WERE WRONG!! and probably need to quit complaining because it does not have excess weight. The weight is very evenly distributed. Great job Benchmade!!

If you made a knife from a Rolls Royce and a big rig...
If you are looking for a D2 tool steel knife, look no further. Yes, there are other great knife makers such as Spyderco, but I personally love the Axis locking mechanism on Benchmade knives. My normal pocket knife is a Benchmade Bone Collector folding drop point with a standard blade with a walnut handle. It's the perfect size to have handy for daily use and is also made of hard wearing D2.For camping, I really needed something bigger and more "tool" weight. Something better for carving, prying and heavier working than what I wanted to do with my smaller daily knife & this Adamas is PERFECT. True, you can wear it daily in your front pocket depending on what your work environment allows for, but it is a little bigger for typical office usage.Another big plus is the finish. If you use the heck out of it, you can see the black finish wearing slowly. Keep in mind, that finish isn't for ninja tacticool factor - it helps with the corrosion protection. D2 is tough as nails, gets sharp enough to slice paper and will last forever if you take care of it. It isn't stainless, so keeping it dry and wiping it down is more important.Check out some of the YouTube videos showing this thing getting torture tested and then buy it! Strongest folder to date.
I love fixed blade knives because of their inherent strength. This benchmade comes in a close second to any fixed blade I own. This knife and my hardcore hardware milf01 are the only two folding knives I would consider a good backup to carry to my primary fixed blade esee 5.To say this knife is built like a tank is an understatement. Under normal ( and most not so normal) circumstances I can't see where you would damage this knife. It's not a lightweight knife but I have always liked knives that you know they are there in your pocket and you know they won't fail. Knife has a strong lockup and smooth opening action. The blade is thick d2 steel and while you won't get this blade to be razor sharp (like a spyderco paramilitary 2 with s30v for instance) it does retain a very good edge even with hard use. Also something to consider is that Benchmade is a top notch company. They will repair your knife or even replace your blade if it ever fails. They will even sharpen your knife for free and clean up your knife's internal parts if needed or replace worn pocket clips etc. They stand behind their product. You should not be disappointed with your purchase.

Benchmade for the win!
I had contemplated for over two years to buy this knife. I ordered it last week and got it yesterday. As soon as I opened the box I seen the Benchmade quality. This being my first Benchmade I didn't know what to expect.Once I pulled the knife out of the sheath and felt the action I was real gritty and didn't seem to want to open smoothly. I was like WTF?. So I immediately threw it on the bench to see what the issue was with the action.Upon minor inspection I noticed that the knife seem to have some dirt or residue from assembly in the action. No big deal.At this point I grabbed my blue lube cleaner and oil and begin tear the knife down and cleaned and re-oil the action and reassembled the knife. Voilà, problem fixed. Now the knife opens up with little to no effort and is smooth as silk. Now that I've it working nicely I love the weight of it and style. The knife itself is HUGE which doesn't bother me one bit. Some people may not like a folder this big but I do. It fits nicely in my hands and feels great!I would highly recommend this knife to anyone.

-Pocket clip is loose like, easy fix to take another one off another ...
Let me break it down plain and simple...Pros:-Weight: Large heavy blade in a relatively light handle confirms that the knife is still in your pocket, vest, etc-Sharp as hell cuts through most things with little to no resistance- Non serrated blade, smooth cut-deep pocket carry clip-sheath and malice clip includedCons:-Pocket clip is loose like, easy fix to take another one off another knife (such as a CRKT in my case)- Handle might allow for a slip up- Only reason it is easy to open is the tightness on the Allen star screw holding the blade in place.Overall great knife to have way better that my CRKT with the wings on the side, fits great in the pocket, designed by a RANGER, and donations are made to the Navy Seal Foundation and Ranger Assistance Foundation with every purchase of this knife model. Made in the USAHope this helps.

Best knife you will ever own
Best knife you will ever own. Here is a tip. Anybody who compares this or any Benchmade product to cold steel is a do do head. Their are few companies in the world who can compare to Benchmade. This is not even a consumer grade knife really. It is a true professional tool. I did drop the angle of the blade to 19 degrees and have never looked back. It always will shave. Always. D2 tool steel is just about as good as tool steel gets and is used for the bulk of forming dies. Its a bear to work with and cut, but when forced into shape its as good as it gets. D2 in a properly treated state could literally cut a high speed steel drill bit in half.If you need or want the best of the best of the best this is it. Lighting fast open and close. It can be done in under a second with one hand.
