How to Draw Animals

Useful addition to the library and great for the younger artist

This is a grea book on how to draw Amnials (I call them Amnials as a laugh, this isn't a spellchecker issue or my spelling all gone phooey). Amnials are all over, there's all sorts of them. And this shows how to draw them with great techniques.

beautifully illustrated book with clear guidelines on how to draw. At this point I've only read it - need to find time to use it in application - I'll update this when I do :-)

Very easy steps to learning to draw animals. Highly recommend for adults & children just learning to draw. Well worth the money.

Brilliant book, with clear instructions and ideas. It has really helped my 8 year old daughter to draw animals she wouldn't usually be able to. A great gift for both girls and boys who love to draw

I bought this for my daughter, who loves drawing and animals. She found it very good, with different chapters for different types of animals (pets, horse, reptiles, sea creatures etc.) and step-by-step instructions at the end of each chapter for drawing a larger scene with the animals. The instructions were very clear too. Overall an amazing book.

This is a really good book if you want to learn to draw animals and and butterflies and different scenes e.g countryside or the ocean and jungle! Lovely illustrations. Bought second hand price well worth buying it anyway.

Magnifiques et très grandes illustrations, des pas à pas clairs pour dessiner une quinzaine d'animaux : chat, chien, lapin, crocodile, iguane, cheval, poulain, poney, papillon, abeille, dauphin, hippocampe, lion, tigre, jaguar. Cette partie est accessible à tous, petits et grands. Là où je trouve que c'est moins bien, c'est pour la colorisation, les instructions sont trop succinctes, et il n'y a pas de pas à pas, c'est difficile si on n'a pas déjà de bonnes bases en encre, aquarelle ou crayons de couleur. Le gros plus de ce livre : l'auteur introduit les animaux qu'on vient d'apprendre à dessiner dans des scènes avec un beau paysage en fond, et explique le cheminement pour une belle composition, comment faire un croquis préparatoire, le colorer rapidement pour décider des couleurs, des ombres, des valeurs. Puis la mise au propre du projet, le croquis définitif, l'encrage et la colorisation. Le tout sur trois doubles pages par scène. Et ça, je trouve ça génial. Difficile à mon niveau, mais génial. Je pense qu'il faut déjà se débrouiller un peu en dessin pour s'en sortir, mais c'est chouette d'essayer et d'avoir d'aussi beaux modèles pour s'entraîner.

Really liked the method they used to show how to draw animals, would recommend.

We got this book for my daughter for Christmas. She's drawing pictures all the time now. Her drawing has improved by following the techniques in the book. She's doing a great job and loves the book.
