The Nightmare On Elm Street Collection features 7 films across 4 Blu-ray discs plus a disc of bonus content. A Nightmare On Elm Street Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) is having grisly nightmares. Meanwhile, her high-school friends, who are having the very same dreams, are being slaughtered in their sleep by the hideous fiend of their shared nightmares. When the police ignore her explanation, she herself must confront the killer in his shadowy realm... From modern horror master Wes Craven comes a timeless shocker that remains the standard bearer for terror. Featuring Johnny Depp in his first starring role, this horror classic gave birth to one of the most infamous undead villains in cinematic history: Freddy Krueger. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge Five years have passed since Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) was sent howling back to hell. But now, a new kid on Elm Street is being haunted every night by gruesome visions of the deadly dream stalker and if his twisted soul takes possession of the boy's body, Freddy will return from the dead to wreak bloody murder and mayhem upon the entire town. A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors The last of the Elm Street kids are now at a psychiatric ward where Freddy haunts their dreams with unspeakable horrors. Their only hope is dream researcher and fellow survivor Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp of the original Nightmare), who helps them battle the supernatural psycho on his own hellish turf. A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master Proving there's no rest for the wicked, the unspeakably evil Freddy Krueger is again resurrected from the grave to wreak havoc upon those who dare to dream. As her friends succumb one by one to Freddy's wrath, telepathically gifted Kristen embarks on a desperate mission to destroy the satanic dream stalker and release the tortured souls of his victims once and for all. A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child Unable to overpower the Dream Master who vanquished him in A Nightmare On Elm Street 4, Freddy haunts the innocent dreams of her unborn child and preys upon her friends with sheer horror. Will the child be saved from becoming Freddy's newest weapon or will the maniac again resurrect his legacy of evil? A Nightmare On Elm Street 6: Freddy's Dead - The Final Nightmare They tried to burn him, bury him, wash him away with holy water. Freddy hitches a ride inside some poor soul's dream to the nearest town and hey, quicker than you can say "Nine, ten, never sleep again", the dreamstalker's back in business... A Nightmare On Elm Street 7: Wes Craven's New Nightmare In a frightening new twist in the terror on Elm street, Wes Craven (director of the original film) finds that his dreams have begun to dictate real-life horrors for the stars of the film. Review: Great series, Blu-ray quality is variable, 4K of the first film is good - Unfortunately desertcart is lumping my review of the complete series Blu-ray set in with the standalone 4K release of the first film, so I'm editing what I wrote before. The new 4K release of the original ANOES is wonderful. First off, it's uncut, so it includes a few brief, but dramatic moments missing from previous disc releases. The picture quality is excellent for a 40 year old film. The colour grade is much closer to how I remember the film looking on my old VHS. The new sound mix has restored several missing elements from past releases and the original mono mix is included, which is something that all old films should do! I highly recommend the 4K release to all fans. It's a pity there's no updated Blu-ray release available. The extras are much the same a previous releases. Fortunately, the independent documentary, Never Sleep Again is available from 101 Films to provide an in-depth look at the first film and the series. The success of the 4K release of the original film has resulted in a 4K series collection being scheduled for later in 2025. Now back to an edited version of my old review of the Blu-ray set released more than a decade ago... I've loved this series since I was a teenager in the 1980s and 1990s. I saw Freddy's Dead the day it was released in UK cinemas. I owned the DVDs long ago, but in my late 40s I decided I'd like to run through these again on Blu-ray. desertcart had this seven-film set from 2009 going at a terrific price. The films are wonderful, with the first, third, fourth and fifth forming a cohesive story arc, seeing the acting debuts of Johnny Depp and Patricia Arquette, among others, and the directing debuts (or breakthroughs of) Jack Sholder, Chuck Russell (co-writing with Frank Darabont), Renny Harlin, Stephen Hopkins and Rachel Talalay. The films include tremendous, surreal effects work, with practical (pre-CGI) effects from some ingenious inventors, that beat anything computer generated from the present day. Rewatching the films after all these years, I was surprised to find that the fifth film resonated with me in a completely different way, as it has some very dramatic storytelling in the 'real world' and I think it's rather wonderful. The standout performances of the series, other than Robert Englund, for me, were Heather Langenkamp as original final girl Nancy Thompson, Patricia Arquette as the original Kristen Parker (a rather blandly-written character brought to life by a haunting performance) and Lisa Wilcox as Alice Johnson in the fourth and fifth films. Wilcox's performance in both films encompasses an exceptional amount of character development for a genre film and she plays the role to perfection. Alice is without doubt my favourite character in the series. The technical quality of the films on the Blu-rays is extremely variable. The (MPAA edit of the) first film had also recently been re-released in a two-disc set, which is included in the collection, and looks decent. The other films are bundled two-to-a-disc with some old SD extras. Some of the films look great, such as New Nightmare and the fifth film. The third film - often regarded as the best-loved - is disappointingly poor quality, looking like it was sourced from an old print. Disappointingly, these are all the R-rated US theatrical versions, so there are cuts compared with UK VHS releases and old UK TV screenings. It's a mixed bag: dated, relatively early Blu-ray releases that unquestionably doesn't represent the films at their best quality, but until the 2025 4K set is the best current release on the market. Freddy vs Jason and the 2009 Platinum Dunes remake are not included. If you want to see the films before the 4K set in 2025, this is the set to buy! Review: BLU-RAY COLLECTION - Any Nightmare on elm st fan that still has the DVD collection from 1999 that's packaged in snapcases, try and sell it cause you don't need it anymore. Cause this brand new Blu-ray collection has it all. 4 blu-ray Discs plus a bonus Disc which has a brand new Doco on the Nightmare on elm st legacy called Welcome to Prime time plus 3 episodes from Freddy's nightmares tv series plus an Freddy krueger MTV TV special which is an Easter egg that you have to find on the screen to watch the special Disc 1 is the first Nightmare, the original classic in Widescreen, picture and audio is very Good for Blu-ray the special features are the same interview featurettes on the Encyclopedia Disc from 1999 DVD collection as well as the Never sleep again 50mins Doco about the making of the film as well as Audio commentaries, Deleted scenes , outtakes etc. Disc 2 is Nightmare 2 and Nightmare 3 on the same Disc, you choose which one to watch on the menu both films are Widescreen only, very Good picture and audio quality better quality than the transfers from the 1999 dvd collection the special features for Nightmare 2 and 3 are the same interview featurette's from the 1999 DVD collection so there's nothing new there. Disc 3 is Nightmare 4 and 5 on the same Disc, both films are Widescreen only very Good picture and audio quality of course. the special features again are the same interview featurettes from the 1999 DVD collection Disc 4 is of course Nightmare 6 and New nightmare, both films are Widescreen format that look and sound very Good for Blu-ray so all film's in widescreen only and have different audio options to choose Nightmare 1 has both 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound, the rest of the films are 5.1 surround sound only Disc 5 the bonus Disc has all new Doco on the Nightmare Legacy called Welcome to Prime time very interesting Doco there's special features on the Bonus Disc aswell 3 episodes from the Freddy's nightmares TV series, there's an Easter egg of Freddy Krueger MTV 1988 TV special if you can find it the special features on this desertcart listing are correct so check the listing if your lost. absolutely fantastic blu-ray collection a must for any Nightmare on elm st fan Definitely worth the money, not sure on the region code i thought this collection was region B only but the desertcart listing says region free/All regions. Nightmare On Elm Street Complete Collection DVD Box Set
I would say being an massive horror fan and I have all of Saw boxset , Slience of the Lambs , Hannibal Red Dragon Manhunter and Hannibal Rising DVDs , and Texas Chainsaw Massacre I would say I saw Nightmare on Elm Street the original for the first time this Year it is an classic from 1984, it is horrifying the beginning in the boiler room and the way he haunts the teenagers dreams, I decided to get the box set as Nightmare on Elm Street Three The Dream Warriors Was absolutely terrifying the teenagers again had the same nightmares and one of the originals Nancy Thompson She was an survivor of an group of teenage friends who had previously been killed and murdered in her sleep , she works as an intern at Westin Hills Mental Institution, with teenagers who’s parents had previously been underestimated by Freddy she herself remembers the song 1, 2, Freddy’s Coming for You, Three Four Better Lock Your Door , Five Six Grab Your Crucifixion, seven Eight Gonna Stay up Late Nine Ten never sleep again . She is told not to believe them but she does believe and sets up an Like an radio Frequency , but they must fall asleep and so they set up an an like Timer it makes them fall asleep They go back to their Nightmare and try and kill Freddy but Nancy dies She cannot defeat Freddy also an very frighting bit of Nightmare on Elm Steet Three : Dream Warriors is the teenager mental institution Patient Kristin Parker Who dreams of being an TV star actress is killed by Freddy in the tv and I also thought Nightmare on Elm Street Two Freddy’s Revenge was not so good or frightening at the time there was quiet an focus On the character Jessie and an rather Gay theme as it was more Freddy trying to get inside Jessie it was scary in parts when he wakes up sweating from an Nightmare in the bedroom where it is also an Nightmare of being stalked on the bus by an mysterious killer and the End where it happens again the same Nightmare has in the beginning goes actually has not killed Freddy he is on the bus again it was rather weak one of the worst in the franchise not enough killings and other characters being developed and their back stories Nightmare On elm Street Four The Dream Child is actually is again an new set of teenagers rather going into an dream of the house where Freddy lives It is very Frightening and again It adds an new control and power of Freedy to manipulate the Teenage Kirsten and haunt her dreams, it is very good along with Nightmare on Elm Street Five , I would say one is great two very weak not the scare factor three the best in The Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise, and Four highly spine chilling five ok quite good not strong in the gore or body counting parts or frightening bits or different use of characters development Six did not find it scary but was quite good acting in parts . An Great Boxset for Nightmare on Elm Street Fans and Horror fans in General .

AWESOME SET! But....
This is by far the best collection, especially for the price, of the Elm Street series I have come across so far. The major problem I have though, is that the original classic (by far the best) takes over 2 minutes to load, and it's not JUST the disk in this set, I owned the original import region free which also took awhile to load, which I don't really understand because A.) there really aren't that many special features on there to begin with (pretty much the same that's on the 2 disc special edition DVD) and B.) the other discs, which contains 2 movies on each, loads up in no time at all. 2 minutes may not sound like a long time, but in terms of waiting to watch a movie to load up it seems like forever (I actually timed it, as I thought there may be a fault, it was about 2.20 mins with a logo of a disc spinning around). Bit of an annoyance really, as the original is in fact my favourite slasher film of all time, as well as one of my personal favourite horror films of the 80s (I'd actually rank it higher above the original Halloween, there's alot more going on and the performances by everyone involved make it feel more powerful and dramatic, in fact it may be one of the best acted slasher films I've ever come across with fully rounded characters whom you genuinely care about). Too bad it lost it's way and Freddy became a caricature of himself as the series progressed, but Wes made up for that with the underrated seventh installment. The packaging could also be a bit better as the discs are a bit flimsy and awkward to get out, but for the price I paid (£17), you can't really complain about packaging, because it's such a bargain. I've not yet seen the bonus disc, but can confirm that the other ones in the series also have special features on them. The transfers are all great, but don't seem to be as perfected as much as the original. Highly recommended for Elm Street fans, but if you need a toilet break when watching the first one, be sure to go when the loading screen pops up. I'd rate it about 4/12 stars. As for the good news, it doesn't contain the Platinum Dunes remake A Nightmare on Elm Street [DVD] [2010 ]. P.S., as for American's coming on here and complaining that they bought this set because it's cheaper than theirs, and that the bonus disc (which is just a DVD, not Blu Ray), thus downgrading it (I saw some others doing the same thing with Testuo 1 and 2 Blu Ray), then well, I guess now you know how it feels, and to be quite honest, with the huge amount of releases you guys get and what little we get, and how much more we have to pay, what are you complaining about?

"All the fans that keep complaining that we took Freddy out of the shadows..."
"then we are gonna put Freddy in the shadows". I'm not sure, but I'm almost convinced this is what the Warner brass was saying to they people assigned to remaster this in hd. What in the H-E double hockey stick are you talking about? Well, as a long time NOES fan, I can say that my memories of these films are that they were always the glossier, better produced horror films of the 80's, especially compared to Friday the 13th and the Halloween films. Glossier is the word for how I felt, most certainly from Dream Warriors on. When I first purchased the NOES 2/3 bluray I noticed while watching Dream Warriors that the picture seemed darker, almost under-exposed especially whenever Freddy was on screen. I remembered the old Media home videos (which I still have!) where Freddy seemed filmed in almost daylight like exposure. Then the bluray comes along and you can't see Freddy as well. I figured immediately that they re-lit them scenes to make them eerier and not have Freddy so over-exposed. So now when he's on screen, it's much how he looked and was lit in the original and it makes the entire scene spookier because of it. Other bd's of older horror films have taken a similar root. A few months back I watched The Evil Dead bd with a girl who had never seen it and it terrified her to the point that it took us literally 3 separate nights to finish it. I watched Evil Dead with at least 100 different people in my life, but always on video and dvd, and I would normally hear that it was gross and very cheesy and dated. No one I ever watched it with found it scary. Now this girl who has never seen Evil Dead finds it intensely horrifying. When I watched that bd of Evil Dead for the first time i felt they changed alot of the color and shadows and made it deeper, darker. I know that's what terrified her. The film didn't seem dated in the right light, mixed with how scary the film is supposed to be, for the first time in my life, I watched it get scare somebody to tears, 3 nights in a row. So now with these new bd's we have Freddy the way we always wanted him. In the dark, in the shadows... Now this sounds great doesn't it? Everybody's favorite dream stalker in a much more nightmarish atmosphere. Well the problem for most fans is gonna be that the original films DID have Freddy lit brightly. He was lit and you could see him as easy and as any leads in the daylight scenes. In order to bring Freddy out of the light, they under-exposed the films and they are now lit in the same vein as The Godfather films. Let's do remember that even if these were glossier than their horror contemporaries, they were still low to modest budgeted films. Under-exposing them makes them look exactly that most of the time. IMO it didn't exactly seem like that to me before now. By changing the lighting of scenes that is technically tampering with the original films and most importantly, changing the films we grew up with. Folks, this series is to me what Star Wars are to alot of you. But I just finished Dream Master, and even though it's darker than I remember, it looked incredible. Having Freddy in the shadows helps taking these films more seriously. The DTS-HD MA is amazing as well. This set literally is a dream come true for me, because when I bought a bd player, I knew I'd have this one day! I just didn't think I'd have to have it shipped from another continent to get it, but that's another story. I would like to take a moment and say also, to those of you who read that the transfer of the of the original is different in any way from the North American transfer, rest assure that's bogus. It's the same. I know because I've watched the US bd at least 50 times since I bought it last year when I made the upgrade to hi def. I watched the boxset bd today and everything is the same, so rest easy if you feel you would like to sell your copy when you get this. So, I'm sure it's clear by now that this is a must have for any Elm st. fan. IF you want to wait for a North American boxset, go ahead. But your gonna have to wait until they our finished selling the next two upcoming 2 packs of the sequels, and then maybe a year after that when the next sequel is being released a boxset might show up. I simply couldn't wait for that! SO remember, Freddy is finally in the shadows again, doesn't that at least sound interesting?

The UK edition is amazing.
Shipped all the way to the US. Good packing and fast once shipped. Unfortunately the wait time from preorder was horrible. Over a month. Great set though worth every penny. Absolutely perfect. No damage what so ever.

Classic Freddy Kruger on 7 Discs for 7 Films
At one point of my life (before the bad Hollywood people came along and did remakes), I actually refused to watch "A Nightmare on Elm Street 1", after it deprived me of 3 days and nights sleep - No word of a lie. However, when they remade the historic movie in 2010, or there about's, I decided to invest in the Collection. Being so long since I'd seen all of these at the cinema, I was under the understanding that there were only 5, but, when watching ever film, one after the other and in order, I realized that Wes Craven did make his own "Nightmare" versions too. Adding to the gore-horror, action and pure adrenaline ride that was escaping Freddy Kruger, I am more than happy with the item and contents. Film Ratings: 9.9/10 - Classic Horror.
