covers lightly, all of the basics of perspective
I am one of those artists who has always been terrified of learning perspective, so, I never learned it even while going through art school. as a result, whenever I tried drawing any kind of background in my art-making, the perspective was always wonky and wrong. about 3 years ago, I landed a job drawing comic books for an indie company and so, found myself in a position where it was either learn perspective, or lose the job. this short little book has been a life-saver for me perspective-wise. it teaches you the basics and explains things in a very clear, easy to understand way. this is not always the case with other books on the subject. This book lightly covers a little bit of everything, except for how to rotate objects. for that, you might want to check out Jason Cheeseman Meyer's book, called 'Vanishing Point.' I wish somebody would've taken me aside and strongly impressed upon me the importance of learning perspective at a younger age, and so, I hope anyone who reads this will be encouraged to master perspective while they are still younger. your older self will thank you if you do . . . :)

To the point
I find perspective tedious. I used to be more adept at this year's ago but decided to brush up on it. This book is all right and the author makes a really boring art aspect tolerable. I have other books that make perspective so complicated - which it really is if you are doing architectural drawings. But you don't need all that for paintings and I like how the author even says going overboard on that makes art look mechanical.

Useful, Teaches What it's Supposed To.
In general a very straight forward book to have in order to learn perspective drawing. It gives step by step on how to execute different types of perspective (one point, two point, so on) as well as goes over on things such as how to create repeating windows in perspective or fences, so on. Not much to say other than it is a useful book for beginners first learning these types of concepts. One issue I have is to beware of is that this listing unfortunately contains different versions of this book. I had purchased this used and got a much older version than the one showcased. The newer version has been changed and doesn't completely match the older versions (as they omitted, added, moved around certain pages), so beware when you are thinking about buying this.

The Boring Part Of Drawing Made Easy
I love cartooning. But I hate the technical side of drawing. A car? Outside of a house? A street lined with buildings? Yuck! But it's a must for good backgrounds even for cartoons. I always tensed up on that stuff and my brain immediately withdrew. Vanishing points and rulers and straight lines? Blah! But once I checked this book out and sat down and eased into it I instantly caught on and it's no big deal. Once you know the rules you just apply them as needed. It's still a little technical but man those backgrounds I'm finally comfortable with really add something and I'm proud of picking up new skills. You have to push yourself and your art. If you only draw what you're good at you won't grow as an artist.

Super addition to the Art Library
A very clear and concise walkthrough of everything you need to know about perspective to get up and running drawing convincing pictures. For 90% of artists, this is the only book you'll ever need to make professional use of perspective.Edit: I forgot to mention that, this latest copy, which I review here, I purchased for my college student son. I have owned it for many years and my copy sits on a shelf within arms reach of my drawing table.
