Dragon Wings Boeing X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) - 1:72 Scale Model Manufacturers Description: Features: - 1/72 true-to-scale precision model - Displayable die-cast spacecraft with high collectable value - Aesthetically pleasing color finish with delicate imprinted markings - Elegant metal stand for easy display Produced by Boeing, the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) is an unmanned spaceplane created by the USA. The X-37 started life in 1999 as a NASA project, but it was taken over by the Department of Defense (DoD) in 2004. The reusable spacecraft conducts orbital flights and is now operated by the US Air Force to demonstrate reusable space technologies. The first orbital flight of the USAF's X-37B took place on April 22, 2010 after it was launched using an Atlas V rocket, and landed at Vanderberg AFB on December 3 2010 as scheduled. Its aerodynamic design is clearly based on that of the Space Shuttle. The 8.9m-long and 4.99-tonne X-37B has the ability to remain in orbit for up to 270 days propelled by a single Rocketdyne AR-2/3 rocket engine. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ITEM IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A TOY, THIS ITEM IS FOR COLLECTORS. MINIMUM AGE RECOMMENDED 14.

Less plastic than the usual
Impressed with model. It is more diecast than plastic. Dragon usually does too much plastic, but not this one. Very happy!

Well-built model with impressive detail....
The thing that caught my eye with this model was the amount of detail. From the Boeing and USAF logos to the paint job, Dragon Models didn't miss a thing with this piece. It's all metal and well-constructed, and it makes for a nice display if you're a space models collector like myself. The only real issue I have with DM pieces are the stands - they just don't hold together well for me. The little screw you use to keep the model in place is a bit stubborn, and it's not unusual for me to find the model facing sideways from time to time as a result. Also, the model is a bit on the small size, so I wouldn't pay more than 30-35 dollars for it (I paid about 28 for this while it was on sale). All in all, though, it's a well-built, pleasant-looking piece that I'm happy to add to my collection. Good job, Dragon Models!

Another Excellent Dragon Spacecraft
Another excellent spacecraft from Dragon's SPACE Collection. I assembled in the gear up configuration. Everything press fit, no glue or adhesive required. Well detailed. Larger than I expected for 1/72.

Nice model but bad stand:
Stand attachment needs to be done better, also gear and doors fall off, have to use super glue to correct problems! I think for the price it needs these things addressed. The model itself is great.

not what I was expecting for the price.
I chose this because I wanted a realistic looking display of the X37. It is too small and the little assembly that is needed required the use of an adhesive to make the model stable. It is ok. But I will not be buying a Dragon product again.
