Best case I bought.
I am in love with this case. I bought the Apple Smart Folio case first, noticed how wobbly it is on a hard surface and then I had to keep a hand on it at all times in my lap and that made me super nervous. Then I got the ESR case that has the different angles and strong magnets but that thing was heavy as heck. It made my iPad feel really bulky and I hated having to carry it around bc it was like a brick. Then I came across this case. It’s stable which is a big thing. It doesn’t rock no matter how you have it set up. I can have it on my lap, my table or even the arm on my chair and it doesn’t wobble or anything. The magnets to hold the iPad are incredibly strong so it’s not going anywhere. I put the Apple Smart Folio and then the Pitaka case in the other and honestly you can not tell the difference between the two weight wise. It keeps the iPad feeling thin and the material is easy to clean compared to the silicone cover that shows everything and is hard to get everything off. The different angles on this make it easy to use. I can walk away from it knowing that it’s not going to just flop over. I love the feel of this case. It’s easy to switch between the different angles once you get use to it. When you wanna close it with the flap it hugs your Apple Pencil so no need to worry about that falling off either. I wanted my iPad Pro 13” to feel as thin as I could with a case on it and this is perfect for that. I’m not worried about the corners not being protected bc in the past 6-8 years of owning iPads I never dropped a single one. The sides do come up a little more than the Apple Smart Folio so I would assume if you did drop it, it’s going to hit the case before the iPad but again I don’t drop my iPads so I wouldn’t know for sure. I will say all around it is an awesome case and definitely worth the money.

Lightweight, sturdy, and versatile case
Highly recommend! I agree with other reviewers that this is a super high quality and versatile case. I use it all of the time while doing puzzles on the iPad and it's sturdy and easy to view while on the built-in stand. I like it that you can fold it in different ways to position it in whatever way you prefer. This is a slim and lightweight case that's easy to use and protects the iPad without adding bulk or weight.

Same great fit but with new Tricks
I’ve been using my trusty Apple Branded Smart Folio Case with my iPad Pro 11” (M2 model) for a while. It has served me well, but it’s always been missing something. Sure, it can prop up my iPad in two different heights in landscape mode, but that’s about it. Enter the Pitaka iPad Pro Case. It fits like a glove and protects the same as the Apple Smart Folio case but does so much more. Sure, it magnetically attaches to the back of the iPad and wakes the iPad when you open the lid same as the Apple Smart Folio. But when you have an Apple Pencil attached to the edge of the iPad, you can fold out a flap that keeps your pencil securely attached. When going without the Pencil, that same tab neatly tucks magnetically between the iPad and the case so you don’t even notice it. The lid also has some cool origami folding tricks that give you so many more options to prop up your iPad than the Apple case. While the Apple case does two different landscaping angles, this Pitaka case does those plus another landscape angle and it has one that allows you to prop up your iPad in Portrait mode, too! You loose nothing and gain so much! It’s built really well, looks great and is much more functional. Not to mention that it costs less, too! I already have a carbon fiber Apple Watch band and thin case for my iPhone, and now I can round out the Pitaka collection with this awesome iPad case.

Mostly good, still better than Apple's
It's true that this folio has twice (4) the viewing angles vs Apple's two angles. 62º and 57º are folded exactly the same way. The only difference is portrait or landscape. I like how the edges are touching the surface, not the inside felt of the cover. This means dirt is minimised when you close the cover so the screen shouldn't be easily scratched. However, for 53º and 34º, the inside of the cover is fully touching the surface. This means any dirt will get transferred onto the screen of the iPad, potentially scratching it. Fortunately, 57º and 53º are very similar. Unfortunately, 34º is needed for typing so either you have to: 1) Accept that the screen will be scratched by dirt sooner or later 2) Type with two hands like a phone or one hand swipe keyboard 3) Always make sure to place the iPad on a clean surface. In comparison, though the Apple folio only has 2 angles, they all can be folded in a way that the inside of the cover is never exposed. Regarding the strength of the magnets, I am satisfied with both folios. I tested both by hanging the iPad with the cover alone and they didn't drop off. I think for a normal use case, it should be safe. Many people have mentioned the flap. In my view, you can stick the flap at the back of the case. You don't need to take off the iPad to tuck the flap in though it seems they designed it that way with the recess on the inside. I think they should move the recess from the inside to the outside (on the back) for the flap to stick to. The magnetic strength of the flap when sticking it on the back is thus weak because I don't think that's the intended way. Overall, I'd say it's still worth the price as Apple charges about 40% more though I wouldn't say it's worth 5 stars. If they can somehow figure out (though I think it's physically impossible) how to make all the folding angles never exposing the inside of the cover, shift the recess for the flap to the back rather than awkwardly inside and strength the magnets there, then I'd say yes, 5 stars.

The Pitaka MagEZ Folio 2 over Apple Smart Folio?
In the world of “folio” style iPad cases, the Pitaka MagEZ Folio 2 for iPad Pro is a breath of fresh air. After using Apple’s Smart Folio for years I've always wondered why its shortcomings keep returning iteration after iteration with no obvious solutions. So how does the Pitaka MagEZ Folio 2 stack up? Visually this case is stunning. Very slim and stylish, this product is stealthy enough not to be overly loud and unprofessional yet still catch your attention. I have had a few people in passing ask what I was using when I brought it out in the field with me. The high-quality materials such as scratch-resistant polyurethane leather make it feel like a premium product and give it a sense of durability that most folios lack. The black is sleek but I love that it also comes in white. At the time of purchase the white was unfortunately unavailable. Now for the features, there are two specifics that I’ve always wanted in a folio style case and Pitaka delivers on both of them. First is the Apple Pencil holder. My previous folio cases basically ignored the pencil all together, making it not the best solution for a designer. This one has a little magnetic flap that holds the pencil securely so I don't have to worry so much about it popping off and getting lost. If this saves me from losing one pencil at $129 US it's already more than paid for itself. And for days when I’m not toting the pencil around, Pitaka engineered a little recess where the flap can easily fold out of the way. Attention to detail is key. Now for the main stand out feature that I’ve been asking for for years. The Pitaka MagEZ Folio 2 not only has two standing orientations but also varying degrees of tilt. This feature is essential for me and makes this accessory a must have. Apple’s Magic Keyboard and Smart Folio don't even offer the option for portrait orientation. While the Magic Keyboard does tilt to some degree, I cannot use it easily with the Apple Pencil very well and forget about trying to do any design work. The flip top cover also wakes the device which is a feature that you don't realize how important it is till you use a folio that doesn't include it. The Pitaka MagEZ Folio 2 can do 4 degrees of tilt, one for portrait 3 three for landscape. In portrait it can do a 62 degree angle which I find very useful for reading or scrolling through web pages. In landscape this folio can do 34 degrees for drafting or drawing work which I find to be super comfortable. But also it can sit at 57 or 53 degrees. I found these angles great for video calls or Facetime. When I’m getting a little bit of glare at one angle I can quickly swap to the other angle and it usually alleviates the problem. Now I’ve used the MagEZ Case 2 and MagEZ Stand for a long time now (would kill for the MagEZ Pro and wireless charging stand) at home and I was worried if there would be compatibility issues. I’m happy to report that they work flawlessly together. The design team obviously made an effort for compatibility and they fit so well together that it brought a smile to my face. Now for the price, at $59 at time of writing I feel its more than fair. The Apple Smart Folio is $79 and offers less in terms of functionality. Sure they have more of a variety of colors but if color is more important than function to you, why are you reading a review? You would be hard pressed to find a folio style case that has so much to offer and is made of such premium feeling materials at this price. In conclusion, I’ve had a number of Pitaka products over the years and while I have not always been in love with them, they have made consistent improvements year after year. I don't believe in being a brand fanboy and I explore products from everyone whenever something new comes out. But for a while now I can say that all roads have lead me to Pitaka. From my iPhone 14 Pro Max to my iPad Pro I have found that almost exclusively all my needs have been met by their products without compromise. I recommended the The Pitaka MagEZ Folio 2 for its durability and versatility.

Nice quality and solves problems that other solutions did not solve well.
Overall I like the quality and the concept. Other cases I used before were either too big/heavy/clunky (e.g. Otterbox) and needed an additional ipad holder that I had to carry while traveling. I have also tried other folios such as UAG ones, but they were not as stable, (it would easily slide) and it was only possible in landscape mode. The Pitaka Folio 2 solves all of those problems. It is lightweight and sleek. I don't have to carry another holder for traveling. It also has quite a varied number of viewing angles, quite sufficient for all the various uses of the ipad. It was also super stable and I did not have any wobbling issues or it collapsing. The portrait mode was only stable on one side though, and it was the side where the charging port was on the bottom. So you could not charge it and use it in a stable portrait mode at one time. It took me a while to figure out how to use all the different variations of folding and positioning. But once, I figured it out, it was became relatively simple and straightfoward. One issue I had was that the flap holding the apple pencil would flop down over the screen when it was in landscape mode on top. Putting a pencil there did solve the problem, but not everyone has the apple pencil, or won't have it there when they are using it. You could always flip it around, but just wanted to point that out. The other issue I had was that I have a fairly thin TPU case on the ipad. But it wasn't thin enough and I could not use it in conjunction with the Pitaka Folio 2. I take really good care of my apple devices so even the thought of it possibly being exposed even on one side at any time was not as comforting to me. It looks like I may have to try out the MagEZ case 2. It seems like that should be compatible, but it seems like no other case will be thin enough.

Case for a iPad Pro 11in M4
I'm a fan of Pataka cases. I've bought several for my phones and since I just bought the iPad, I thought I'd try them for this too. I didn't want a keyboard and wasn't a big fan of Apples folio so I looked elsewhere. Pataka to the rescue!! Very well made case. I love the magnetic closure strap for the pencil. I holds it in place well and when you unfold it, it snaps into place on the case as it's magnetic too. That way it's not flapping around in the way. The case folds in several positions. to landscape and horizontal viewing and also aids in holding the iPad in your hand so your hand doesn't ache as often. I think there are 4 different ways for it to fold but haven't really spent the time figuring out the ins and outs of them all. I just use it and enjoy it! It's a bit expensive maybe but looks and feels like it will last and both phones I used the phone covers on show zero wear after a year of use on each one.

Poorly made product - magents did not work on two units
TLDR: Very poor magnet strength and sloppy fit. The case failed to hold my iPad Pro 11" M4. I bought this case during the Black Friday sale because I liked the design and the ability to stand the iPad in portrait or landscape (the Apple Pencil cover is a good idea here too). Unfortunately, the quality just isn’t there. The iPad doesn’t stay secured on either units I tried. This allowed the iPad to slide right out as soon as it’s placed at an angle and with a shake with the case closed it could fall out. Even when the magnets catch slightly, the alignment is off and the camera cutout doesn’t line up properly. I attempted to contact the manufacturer, but their support page wouldn’t load. I requested a replacement through Amazon, and the second unit had slightly stronger magnets, but still nowhere near enough to hold the iPad safely. To confirm it wasn’t my device, I tested my iPad at the Apple Store where it snapped into Apple’s folio and keyboard cases instantly with no issues. In summary, the fit is not good, and the magnets suck.
