Mirror
Very handy mirror, I rely on this when steering a single or double scull

Not fit for purpose
First of all - at the price, I assumed the hat would be included. If you read all the small print - you’ll find it isn’t. My fault but the ad title & photo are misleading. The product itself is cheaply made. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the attachment part doesn’t flex so it’s difficult to force it on to your cap. I eventually thought I’d secured it only for it to fall off before I got in the water (and if it comes off in the water - I doubt very much that it will float!). Also the mirror is not a wide angle type - so I suspect its field of vision would be sufficient even if I thought it safe to use without it falling off. Don’t waste your money.

Works for me.
It's a useful guide to avoid you hitting things when rowing and facing backwards. I have it permanently fitted to the peak of my rowing baseball hat because the fitting is a bit tight to be taking it on and off. If I'm going to row, I grab the hat off its hook and away I go. I guess, to make it even more useful, it could have a convex, wide angle mirror rather than a flat one, but it is pretty fine as it is. There's not much else you can say about something like this: it works for me. If you wear it in the street, you can spy on people walking up behind you too.

Absolutely perfect for the job
Been using these for years, this has been bought as a spare. Works really well

Really useful
Arrived in good time and condition. Has definitely helped reduce the number of times I have hit the river bank or other boats.

Let’s you see!
These take a while to get used to, being monocular you don’t get a good depth of field, how far things are. But it does enable a very good field of view. River traffic can be continuously monitored without turning your head and upsetting the rest of the boat. You just have to wait for your eyes to get used to seeing one thing in one, backwards! and one in another Forwards! First time out, you will not like it. Make sure you adjust it so that the bow ball is in your vision and stick with it. It’s not a replacement for a good look on the back stroke but I wouldn’t bow steer without it.
