Dog owner
So these clippers are great, I have a 110 lb German Shepard /Golden Retriever mix and these work great even on his thick coat. They do get warm after prolonged use, but I am able to cut my entire dog without any problems or issues. The only reason for not giving out a 5th star is that it does cut him a little odd. It leaves grooves in the hair, where the large tines do not cut completely even, and with his straight hair it takes a day or 2 before they fade away. all in all they work great and I would totally recommend them to anyone looking to just cut back on the amount of shedding or dog hair around their dog or house.

Clippers work great for our market lambs
Clippers work great for our market lambs. The blades had to be re-sharpened after a couple of shears but for the money you can’t go wrong compared to some other high-end clippers.Updated review: still using clippers and only once or twice a year. Blades don’t hold an edge so consider getting a new set of blades to swap out when they get dull. We are looking at upgrading to a higher quality. Clippers are loud and a little bulky. Going to see if a more reputable brand blades will work on these clippers.

You have to be Incredible Hulk to use these.
Don't have anything to compare them to as these are my first sheep clippers. BUT, they are extremely noisy, even after following all of the poorly written instructions on how to make adjustments. They weigh too much for long term use unless you are a burly man, which I am not. Clipper functions ok though at least on the one animal I needed to clip so I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 1.

Stays cool!
Great shears! I am not a professional, and these are probably best suited for a small home farm with only a few sheep to shear per year. That said, I have used professional shears in the past, and I was very surprised how cool these shears stayed the entire time! After and hour of straight use, I could touch the blades and not get burnt.I also loved the fact that this unit has variable speeds (1-6), although I stayed in the 5-6 range the whole timeNote: although there is an oiling bottle in the photo, no oil comes with the product. It is, however, very well oiled from the factory.I would suggest purchasing oil at the same time you order this. Bear in mind that you need to use an oil that will not irritate the animals skin. I think they recommend a paraffin oil.

Easy to use for Border Collie
Bought item for use on a Border Collie. Item performed as described. My border collie's hair can not be trimmed by regular dog clippers, but this item did just fine.I have never used a clipper like this before but was impressed on how easy it was to use. The blades will not move when first turned on, because the knob is on the tightest setting. I had to loosen it a little bit for it to work. I tried every speed setting (1-6) without using it on my dog to determine which one am comfortable with. I was able to groom my dog at speed setting "2". The power cord is long enough to use out on the porch or back yard.

Not good for alpacas
We have 8 alpacas that we needed to shear, but tried shearing 1 alpaca and after a good hour struggling with the animal and the darn clippers we gave up. You can see from the photo that it did not turn out great. The poor looks like he has mange but at least he’ll be cooler this summer I guess :-/

Heavy
These are heavy & awkward to use but the do a really good job at cutting the wool off sheep. The sheep that had very thick wool was harder & we had to use scissors to start the job. I plan to never let them get that thick again but they were like that when we got them.

Great pair of clippers and good price.
These are more for sheering sheep and farm animals. However, I had to return them since they were too loud for my little dogs.
