Amazing wonder light!
I don't often write product reviews but felt like this was ABSOLUTELY one I needed to share. My aquarium sits by several windows and had turned completely green. Even with several water changes I couldn't get the algae under control. I was looking for a water clarifyer and stumbled upon this light. It is heaven sent. My water is clearer than it's ever been. My goldfish Gary, my snail Saffron and my algae eater Ron are doing amazing. I leave it on 24 hours a day to maintain clear water. Well worth the price. I will say READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST!! Great product, highly recommend to anyone struggling with a green aquarium.

Thinking out of-the-box: DIY window casing mold killer.
I have an old 1920’s house, which developed mold in the window casings where the window counter weights are located. No remedy was working. I began looking into small UV lights and stumbled on these stubby aquarium lights. Perfect size for my idea. I drilled holes in each casing and placed these UV lights into the holes in hopes the UV would kill the mold/meldew. I am happy to report that a year later, the lights are still going and the smell is gone. Mission accomplished.

Doesn’t work
This product is advertised for use in eliminating algae from an indoor aquarium. I was persuaded to buy based on the many positive reviews, at least one of which even had a “before” picture that looked just like the problem I’ve been having with my 20-gallon aquarium. Here are my before and after photos. The “after” photo is after four days of use and two 50% water changes. I’m returning the product.

Cleared up our Algae Bloom
We bought this light because our Aquarium store recommended it, We had a TERRIBLE Algae Bloom...we could not even see the fish! In less than 3 days of the light being on the water cleared up completely!

Took a while to clear the tank, but seems to work.
First one I received had broken glass, so I had a replacement sent. The replacement was ok, so I put it to work. I have a tank that just refuses to clear no matter what I do, so this was a last ditch effort. Placed this little light in the HOB filter, turned it on and waited. Small increments of improvement every day. Took about 4 days of light, 12-24 hours of light to clear the tank mostly, a little haze left. Took a week to clear completely, but water is pretty close to crystal clear now. Who knows how long this thing will last, but it works in the short term when all other methods failed.

Miraculous
After changing filters, using 50 micron polishing cloths, tank cleaners, this UV light cleared up the water in my aquarium in 3 days. I set it for 3 hours on day one. It looked like the water was a tad better but I thought it just my mind hoping it was working. After day 2, there was no doubt. By day 3, the water was completely clear. The green algae that was present for months even after partial water replacement and other remedies was gone. I intend to use the UV once a week going ahead. Make sure the UV is kept away from the fish. I placed it my filter.

Didn’t last a year
Didn’t last a year. Worked decently for a small <1 gallon tank, but again, it didn’t last. The bulb burned out and started glowing orange with a burn mark inside the bulb.
