Do I need to buy something extra to hang this from a tree branch? Thanks!

Yes, you would need a TREE CONVERSION ROPE which will attach to a branch and then you can clip the Monkey seat to it (make sure the branch is strong enough for whoever will be using it).

Would a 12mm rope fit this?

Hello, Thank you for your question. The seat comes with it's own rope. We wouldn't advise modifying it with your own rope.

Being really thick - can someone explain in simple terms how this goes over the branch of the tree - thanks

You would probably need to tie a separate rope through the ring on the end of the rope and then tie that around the tree. We use it inside and have a heavy duty hook in a ceiling joist
